Just a footnote to the game.

I watched the TV broadcast on DVR last night. When the linebacker intercepted Covington (first int) they said his name was Warwick.

Later in the broadcast, they said that his grandfather played in the NFL. That's when I realized that I know his grandfather ( at least know of him).

When I was a student at TTU, we had an All everything linebacker called Big Sam. His real name was Lonnie Warwick. He went on to play middle linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings for a number of years. I remember that we Tech grads were really proud to see a Tech guy doing so well on a national stage.

i just wanted to shout out to the Alcoa player about how great his grandad was in the day.

We didn’t take advantage of good field position when we had it. Our  defense played awesome especially inside the ten yard line. I have watched the game also and I believe our #7 had that interception in the first half his hands were on the ball first but no replay in HS of course. IMO he should have been defensive MVP also. I think he had about 15 tackles and broke up a couple passes.

We will miss Booker next year. Any college ball in his future?

    • I hear the Stansberry kid is having receiver's come out all the time to help put in some work.    RWR!! I hope 20+ kids are showing up.
    • I think that pretty much sums it up, really. To be perfectly honest, I'm far less sour about Eagleville getting to host themselves in the state tournament every year than I am the fact that we find ourselves in a position that we have to play STATE TOURNAMENT games at a blamed Single A facility.
    • It's time to put away with the award. 18 players selected, and 17 of those players are from Middle and East Tennessee. I guess they don't play baseball in West Tennessee. I understand there will be players that were "snubbed." We can make a legit argument that it occurs in Mr. Football and as well as Mr./Mrs. Basketball. But baseball is not a place where we can sit here and say "these are the 3 best players in this class and that class."  And we got to get rid of these polls bullcrap that's being released. It's all nonsense.
    • Thanks. I'm just trying to understand how this process works.   It seems like a bit of a sweetheart deal to me but the cookie has to crumble somewhere I guess.
    • He won’t got anywhere he has it made in h20 he prob makes almost what a head coach in t c makes plus there’s not as much pressure there everyone is a use to the losing there. I say he will be there for many years just waiting for Webster to leave…
