Info on Pickett Co? Heard they are gold ball favorites

I don't see any favorites here.  Pickett, Summertown, Greenfield, or Huntingdon might have an edge on paper, but as they say "we don't play games on paper."  Unaka might have double digit losses but they played South Green tough this year, and we all know how good South Green is.  Pickett won this tournament in 1989 with 17 losses, barely had a winning record when state started.  I doubt anybody worried too much about them on the Monday the brackets came out.

Warburg and Unaka are maybe the 20th and 21st best Class A teams in the state and one will make the semis.

Complete horse crap!  Wartburg and Unaka would be blown out by the rest of the field.  Unlucky draw for Greenfield!  They may have drawn the best team besides themselves in the first round; and if they win, they get Huntingtondon.  Summertown will be playing for the gold ball just a matter of who.

Dont jynx the LE!!!!!!! Gotta go out and earn the right to play for the gold ball. Gotta take care of business. Dresden very capable. Dont know anything about Unaka or Wartburg. Did see where Unaka beat a 29-3 Tellico Plains to get here. Wartburg had several great seasons come to a close when they had to face the old 7A in substate. They may feel froggy now.

Every year, you folks talk garbage about how teams from the east don't even deserve to be at state, but the fact if the matter is District 1 has sent 6 teams to at least the Semifinals in the past 9 seasons.

So you totally gonna discard Moore County? Clay Co beat Clarkrange, Moore County beat Clay Co. I don’t see this as a gimme. But down here in southern Middle Tennessee we like being the underdogs. Gotta show up to play every game.

Moore County might not be a pushover.

You’ve had one team South Greene that was any count from over there that’s it.

TSSAA is pathetic. Wartburg or Unaka wouldn’t have even qualified for the 2nd round of district 6A’s district tournament let alone the state tournament. What a joke

You're so sad it's cute. When you're teams don't succeed, it's the TSSAA's fault. All we ever hear is how your 4 teams all superior to everything else in single A. Well we're working on 5 Years since one of them have won a state championship. Keep talking.

Truth is, outside of Pickett and Clarkrange, 6A was very mediocre this year.

    • Why? Low pay. Low budget thanks to the Rotary milking the programs revenue. Foul smell. There are other negative things... Positives: the players and being toward the top of the classification numbers wise.
    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
