Jackson County will not be a factor for a year or two I'm afraid maybe longer than that. About time for Pickett County to lose a few isn't it? They have been there four years in a row. Clay County knocking out Clarkrange and Gleason beating Greenfield threw a wrench in the Region brackets. If us and Clarkrange would have been up there it would have beefed up the bottom bracket more. We played Jackson County at UTM this summer and I talked to the coach and he wasn't very optimistic either. They going through the young stage too? Greenfieldfan
Gibson County, Gleason and Clark Range were three top teams that were upset, but they were definitely one of the top 8 teams in the state. Jackson Co. hasn't done a good job of developing talent like they used to. They will be way down, and until the athletes and the parents decide to start playing AAU its going to remain down. There's definitely some talent there but they younger ones just have not had the coaching it takes nor the floor time to get much better. Coach Brown is still one of the best coaches in the game, it will be interesting to see if he continues on as head coach or hangs it up after a career that includes 7 gold balls/ state championships and 4 or 5 silver balls/runner-ups. It is definitely a 365 day a year sport. Parents in West TN and the athletes have stepped up to the plate in baseball, softball and basketball especially. ysoangry
Congrats to Greenfield by the way. I know I'm late to the party but I did listen to the game on WCMT app. Well deserved for a great team who will only get better.

When you have a team that doesn't turn the ball over much and has a smothering D they will be tough to beat. After Greenfield got through the nerves of being in the Ship they finally played like they have all year. Summertown gave them fits though. Proud of all Weakley County teams that went to the boro. golfcat
they have 5 players are not homegrown kids including the coach's kid.... 4 are seniors. 3 of those ran from AAA to small school with lesser competition... but maybe getting to a state tournament and playing on a lesser team is better than playing on a better team and playing better competition...
