Good game overall for the Pirates considering the conditions. No turnovers, very few of the"first game penalties." Just a few  first game miscues, but overall it was a solid win. Obviously it wasn't as exciting as the last three or four games against Sequatchie were, but in the pouring rain it is hard to be exciting.

Great win for our Pirates. Took care of business in the pouring rain. Lots of very young raw talent on the field. Defense swarms to the ball while maintaining their assignments. Great things to come. 

Oh yeah, the pre-game meal at Andy’s Pizza and Steak House was excellent.

I seen Caine and the Bees handed 6A cookeville a big L last night! Big win for the U even if Cookeville is down! Caine I believe is highly missed in Sequatchie!

First score came after a tackle for loss would have made something like 3rd and 15 at around the 20 but a silly unsportsmanlike made it an easy first down then came the TD. Sequatchie is a good team, but our line and runners were more physical.  I told pegleg to re-watch a video we seen online and I called it that our WR should be able to blow past those DB’s.  The slip didn’t happen until he realized he was best and tried to kick it in gear.  Footwork is everything for a DB.  Right Pegleg?

Polk gets a win and you step up your cockiness.   Everyone knows rains kills speed, and it did somewhat.  Our persistence and determination to get positive yardage regardless if just 1 yard or if 10 yards was the advantage for the Pirates, not the rain.
