(((My Popeye the sailor moment... "Enough is enough & enough is toooo much!!! ARGGGGG!)))

It's been years, I think in 2014 playoffs vs UC since Lions had a running clock put on them. Peabody spanked Lions, in all ways, and my love for this area & personal integrity requires me to publicaly declare, no joke, **IF** these personal & unsportsmanlike  15yd fouls are something that is taught, or even overlooked by our coaches with no consequences to the guilty players, I will go on public record saying it is time to eject our coach, not just a player! Sad to say, but no way is that a good thing or something that should be taught or tolerated. NO!!!! The buck stops at the head coach, he has the onus of responsibility for how those players behave, act, and perform on that field. And shoot fire, while we at it, investigate the whole kaboodle of who is responsible **IF** this is happening (if such bad, & possibly injurious, tactics are being taught & tolerated)- go all the way up to principal, assistants, and board of education personnel. Spare nobody! IT MUST BE STOPPED & IMMEDIATELY DEALT WITH!!!! (again, a HUGE 'if' is the opetative quantifier, which I doubt it's happening, but it is time to question & find out where this undisciplined play is coming from! It should be at least investigated!!!!). And I say all this with wet eyes & flush faced emotions... if this is the current, "new" culture of Dresden football thanks to our new staff, it is NOT the kind of sports program anyone associated with Dresden should tolerate. Alumni, fans, parents, leading families, former coaches, our Quarterback Club, & educational "officials" should now be deeply concerned... yes indeed. Dresden's supporters, past players & coaching staff has worked too hard & too long to build this into a competitive, winning, top-tier program, and it is now time that all this should be swiftly & decisively dealt with to uncover what is happening at Dresden before the damage is too severe. It does raise eyebrows & seems to be more than young, inexperienced players "learning the ropes". It's time to not only "clean up" our undisciplined play, but to --clean house-- of all those "adults" too, again, IF they are allowing/teaching this junk. And nobody should be spared from the purge & fumigation of these cancerous vermin if it is discovered this junk is being taught/tolerated. All true supporters of Dresden sports  should feel the same way IMHO. (Lord, help us all!).

Good game Golden Tide. You guys look deserving of another Gold Ball.

Truth is Hevy, a team usually takes on the personality of the coach...whether it's "taught" or not. We've had a couple of "rough" kids here at Scotts Hill too ( who hasn't ), but I can guarantee you that after a late hit, hit out of bounds, or other questionable behavior, a thumbs up to the bench would result in SEVERE consequences. I can't tell you exactly what would happen, because those "rough" kids dadgum well knew better than to ever do anything of that nature. Our coaches have preached hard hitting...they also like for you to offer 'em a hand getting up after you knock 'em down.

Well... there are other caring people who are telling me things, so I guess I have to put on my "Loudmouth" uniform and be a public voice for everyone's concerns. Ha. It not just "talk", or self-aggrandizment, but I truly am fearless & will stand up & speak up when needed. Why so many humans seem to be "afraid" of what others may think or do is beyond me. I hope I (& others) am 1,000% wrong, but even if everyone is wrong (hopefully), I am saying out loud what everyone is thinking within... which I have been doing since I was a toddler evidently. Ha. "The Mouth Of The South" was my title which that wrestling guy in Memphis saw & stole from me. It's just me being "me". Who else can I be, eh,? Maybe it's a good thing I wasn't at this game... I may have been more upset than Peabody's coaches. Ha. I may have been escorted outside by the "bouncers", and I not drunk, nor drink! But I did watch the game live online. And this gargantuan Lion fan was not a happy camper. Not about the score... but the never-ending, constant, year-long penalties. We are too deep in the year to keep making excuses. Time to poke around & see where the root of this problem is coming from. And so should every real fan of Dresden (& of sports itself) should be feeling, & saying. Which I just did. I dare to share because I care. ( <<< fellow wordsmiths should appreciate such antics with semantics I occasionally spurt forth). :-D

All I’m going off of is the LC game and I thought you guys were fine competitors and that could’ve been because y’all were beating us to death!!! Understand your concerns and I’d say if Yates doesn’t get hurt we might not be discussing this

We’ve never been penalized like this...this team doesn’t even know the rules of the game they play. That’s on the coaching staff.

It just more blatant now. I think a lot of it is frustration but it’s up to the coaches to stop it. The thumbs up to the side line after a late hit says to me that the coaches may not be outright encouraging it but are turning a blind eye

This is absolutely unforgivable. We shouldn’t have let Estes get back on the bus in Greenfield after he gave up 500 rushing yards to THEM. Greenfield? Are you kidding? Tonight was an extra cherry on top. He’s already dug his grave and put the nails in his own coffin. All the players from the state championship team will tell you Estes was a micro manager back then that rode Rang’s coattails and was way too incompetent to even be considered a head coach. What did we expect? We could’ve had Dubriel, an actual alumnus! Union City started that dynasty over there the year he got there. He could’ve took Rang’s math job too. We didn’t want to make a competent hire. That’s been going on for years with the administration that’s responsible for the hiring process. You made a lazy hire and ran your agenda. Estes should step down at this point. Don’t drag this out. Those kids have to be miserable.

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
