So they would have over 2,100 students?

Last time I checked Alcoa was around 660 students. but if we want to round it off, that's cool. Some 6A schools have over 2000. But my point is even  if they have only an additional 1000 students to be added to the school, that might make a difference. Surely out of 1000 extra students they could find some help to win a couple of close games.

No disrespect to Maryville at all, since several of those years an argument could be made for Maryville being the at the top of the nation's elite.

For Alcoa( a 3A school) to be the only school to beat Maryville at home over the last 10 years, I think, says all we need to know about the elite dominant status of both schools.

I'll go ahead and make everyone unhappy after my dark knight side has almost started another mythical game or league.So.Lets just say for " whatever reason",Alcoa and Maryville combined to make both schools  part of one monster 6A school. Now ,can you imagine the best from both those schools along with the very best staff and oh yes a great weight program .I've seen some great Maryville and Alcoa teams that would have been nearly unbeatable with a few players from the other school and I'm talking against the best anywhere in the nation.

I agree, it will not be easy, but 4-6 is just unfathomable.   As Red Rebels has pointed out above, DB has never had back to back losing seasons, so while the statistical probability is certainly not zero it has to be extremely close that the Tribe goes no less than 5-5.    DB lost a lot of seniors, true, but all schools lose a class of seniors each year.   As they say, we will just have to line it up, kick it off and see what happens.    Can't wait for HS football to begin

I could see anywhere from 3-7 to 5-5. They lost arguably the region's best RB and several other really productive players. There's not a lot in the pipeline either, as both middle schools have really struggled.

3-7 would be unthinkable, let's go with 5-5, but I think it will be better than that.

5-5 is being pretty optimistic, and after this year I'm afraid it's really going to start sliding downhill.

Just saw where Hardin Valley lost their head coach, so that would certainly slide HVA over towards the win column for DB.    6-4 maybe??

Hardin Valley put a 2nd half beat down on D-B last year to win going away. I'd guess that it may depend more on what Hardin Valley has returning than anything, unless they make a really bad coaching hire. I'm still going with anywhere from 3-7 to 5-5.

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
