What grade is Gordonsville’s special group? That 2012 senior class was lethal. They had the size and speed of 3-4A teams. I’m still not sure how SP kept that game within 4-5 TDs that season.

Good post!  They seemed to play with a lot more fire Friday night and  not so much of just going through the motions.

8th grade. By the time they're juniors, they should be making some noise. The 8th grade QB has played in several games.

Oh, so your 8th grade kids all play on the varsity? Interesting.. Are they better than that 2012 group? If they are then you boys might get another gold ball in the next 4-5 years.

DTC Sports is planning to televise this game live from Turney Ford Field on Friday night. In doing so, we have a special request.  We would like to have the famous Roy Dillard join us this week on our talk show and would love to have his commentary in the booth during the game on Friday night. I will even have Murphy Fair give Roy an autographed book (as long as he doesn’t leave it in the bathroom) if he will make an appearance. Help me out folks! We need to make Roy a TV star!

Roy needs to take you up on this offer. This would be good for Ole Roy.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
