Blackman @ Mt. Juliet

Blackman's out of region schedule was not great. Hendersonville was their best out of region opponent at 7-3. The rest of the non region schedule was .500.  This isnt the same MJ team from last year. They will not get dominated up front. This game will come down to the Blackman QB getting the ball to Elder and Otey. If he cant get going, the home team will prevail.

That Blaze team lost 28-16 and never appeared to be in control. MJ was actually driving for a game winning score against Whitehaven to make it to state and just didn't convert. Just saying if people are going to act like Blackman & MJ are on two totally different planets as far as success, they are pretty much the same. Show me where Blackman is a more successful program than MJ. I'll wait. This will be a great game Friday regardless...

As an MJ alum I do hope they can live up to the hype.   But Blackman has had a sniff at the semi game.  Going to the finals through Maryville has certainly been challenging for Murfreesboro teams.  Both teams will have their opportunities.  It's a big game for both and you gotta come up big or you go home.

The city of Mt. Juliet, their coaching staff, and their football team are fired up for this football game. I personally can not wait for Friday night.

This is obviously the biggest challenge Mt. Juliet has faced all season, by a wide margin, and I think the element of the unknown is refreshing for a lot of people coming into this game. Mt. Juliet always has one of the best fan bases in Middle Tennessee football and I expect to see the best home atmosphere Mt. Juliet has had in years on Friday night. Hopefully the rain holds off and we get to see a close and exciting football game.

Going to be a lot tougher than either team realizes.  Mt J is still mad at how they got embarrassed by R'dale last year.  While they beat Cookville, it is still not a Rutherford County team that they really want to beat.

Blackman also needs to know this as they have not faced a team looking for REVENGE!  Mt J. will be hitting VERY hard on EVERY play as they know what it is like being sent home EARLY.

Blackman, unless you want to be the one ready to turn your equipment in, BE READY!

Saw Blackman against Oakland and left very underwhelmed. Mt.Juliet has not been challenged this year. The schedule for MJ is pitiful. I think toss up.

I'm not sure you could fairly judge Blackman, or Oakland for that matter, by that game alone. It was a rainy, sloppy game and I don't think you saw the best of either team that night.

Yes yall were the underdog, but embarrassed?? You live in some alter reality where you took a 20-13 score made it seem like an #### whooping, and have made it your motto in life, its more embarrassing how much you refer to it...honestly. then preceded to get shellacked round 2, and is nonexistent in round 2 this year, congrats to Riverdale. (slow awkward clap)

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
