Since football games are played on Friday nights there won’t be too much missed sleep for the precious students. If you’re referring to other the sports at Catholic, they will be grouped in a district  with the Chattanooga private’s. As a teacher in Knox County Schools I’m glad you’re concerned about their academic welfare.

Just repeating back what some Knoxville Catholic supporters said in defense of staying in DI. They said that travel would be too far and take up time from students studies and money that could be spent on other priorities. Catholic supporters got on here and campaingned to stay in DI with those excuses and many more because they knew they would not be able to compete with the DII teams. Better win this one because it's going to be the last.

Well you are comparing apples to oranges BB. Knoxville Catholic has no zone so why complain about OOZ. Why not take a look at your school. Giving people breaks on tuition/aid that aren't Catholic, the not making them pay it back. Telling football players to go back to the public school they are zoned for after football season is over to save tuition money. Work out with the public school team during winter, then don't participate in spring practice, then go back to Catholic for next football season. How about this after their senior year is over, just go back to the public school you are zoned for to guraduate and save some more money. Who cares about the mission of the school. I thought it was to get a Catholic Education.

Not that you genuinely care but a while back when Catholic was thinking of moving to D2 there was talk that they would be placed in a district (non football) with schools from Nashville and Memphis and that made no sense to drive 3 hours and 6 hours to play basketball, baseball, volleyball or whatever sport especially on school nights. My daughter was on the hoops team at Catholic whose bus flipped over driving to Gatlinburg. As a parent I’d would be concerned about long drives on school nights. So the powers that be decided to put a 4 team district together for all sports and football will still go to Nashville and Chattanooga to play. I for one am looking forward to Catholic moving to DII. If they never win another title so be it. The better competition you play, the more exposure you get. People forget that Catholic played in D2 before so it’s a matter of stepping up their game against the better competition. My children graduated from Catholic and they all played sports the one thing their mom and I taught them was never run from competition and if you lose don’t make an excuse the better won. Improve your game.

I mean, no offense, but did you happen to notice the size and strength differential of both teams on the lines? We were fortunate to be up as much as we were because of that turnover they had on the 1 yard line. We had a decidedly speed advantage over them but that was it. When those big hosses up front decided it was time to kick some proverbial a$!, there was nothing we could do about it. They were simply bigger and stronger than us.

Yes, the play calling 2nd half was very head scratching worthy, but the better team won Friday night. Period. We don't have the luxury of going out and getting the best OL prospects in East TN year in year out like Catholic does. With the D1 guys on the line this year, plus Mays from last year is about 4-5 D1 offensive linemen in the past 2 years. Anybody that knows anything about football knows that if you have 2 similarly skilled teams athletically speaking, the one with the superior line play always wins out 9 out of 10 times and that was the case Friday night.

Hey SS when they renovated the school a while back why didn’t they build an on campus stadium or renovate the old one? Did Clinton get a new stadium?

Because football is not the driving force it once was in Oak Ridge. That and the new soccer field had to be redone because of issues cause by the renovation. Oak Ridge doesn't want to move the football field ...tradition and the lack of a good space to put a football field at the school site.  Yes we have a practice field but have you ever seen it? Not much to write home about. As Sgt. Friday used to say "Just the facts Ma'am".

Besides a new field would NOT be next to Big Ed's!  This way can have the tradition and a great place to eat...........and get something really nice and cold to drink!

Bounder, how long until spring ball?

We return 19 starters. We will see if we can compete. Maybe we will add a few Oak Ridge players too, considering you suck.  I bet we add several players for next year now that we can pay for people to attend.

If we suck so bad, what does that say about Catholic, being they have beaten us by a combined 11 points with about 5 more pretty high profile D1 players in both years combined? And it took a monumental comeback Friday night to do it. For us to be so irrelevant, you sure spend a he!# a lot of time on here trying to convince yourself and everybody else that we aren't, so we must not be too irrelevant? Sounds like you have some anger issues you may need to get checked out?

BTW, Kevin? Cade? Is that you? You're about as classy on here as you're in person.
