I could say Huntington would have beat y’all or Greenback. It’s all opinions which as we all know are like.....

Not to argue but a healthy GB teams rolls any team in the finals. We had a very good D and an outstanding diverse offense with Willis,he is and will be the best reciever in 1A and will be one of the highest ranking ones in the State next year (if we can mold someone to throw to him)!It is what it is tho,we lost him and he was our go to guy.

No argument here. As I said. All opinions.

Did you say mold someone or move in someone?  I'm a bit foggy this morn.

I tried to read as much as I could on the thread till I got tired of hearing how great Cornersville D was, and you were good, but just not good enough to give up that late score.

Whitwell had one time to score and did and that was the ballgame.

Cornersville finally allowed a TD to the best team from the East, when the Whitwell offense took over at the Cornersville 20 after the punt out of our own end zone. Having to put into the wind from your end zone, was the play that turned the momentum.

And they punted out of their end zone after Whitwell turned it over on downs at the Cville 1 yard line. So your last statement in the quote is wrong.

Cornersville was the better team and you all know it. However, Whitwell pulled it out because they are the mentally strongest team we played all year. They didn’t break. Hats off to them.

I would have rather been defeated by 40 than how we ultimately lost. When you outplay a team all ballgame and you are the better team, it makes it harder to swallow.

I think your right. Greenabck would have beat them by at least 21.

Maybe so. Especially if Willis would have been healthy. They were a bad matchup for us stylistically.

Again, cheerleading for a team YOU don’t primarily root for.

SP fans have more Huntingdon tendencies than they would like to admit.

    • Yeah I am on board and plan on coming down from the Ridge for some home games, great Friday night atmosphere there.  I'm really hoping SC can get them back going and have some success for those fans and community.
    • Yep I was field level on the scoreboard end throwing ball with Benny when we had that brief lead. Everybody got very excited but it was short lived as Murvil regrouped and went into machine mode. But yeah,  that hit sounded like the crack of a black powder rifle being fire.  I believe Dozier took one like that as a Soph up at Greeneville after on olay block.
    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
    • They do have good community support for sure and did when I coached under Z for 4 years. (I was on that staff that turned them around a little from winning 1 game a year to actually being competitive).  Great Kids and Great Community over there.  They have done some good things with the facilities from when i coached too.
    • I personally will not mind that one bit.  It seems like a really strange fit to me from the git go.
