Teams I support will not even be playing Greenback. Couldn't care less how much they win. Just saying its crazy for a 1a school to load up with transfers every year.  Makes it easy to run over teams who play with the natural hand they are dealt with. And yes Coalfield has had their share but not at this level that I can remember. Thank Brandon Davis was the most talented transfer they've had.

Pujo, Them GB ain’t got enough studs to home grow them. Wi, one claims of being feller even admitted on coacht of wearing wearing his thong backkards. Figure he is a might confused, Recon he’s   in some sort of transition.

Don't think Greenback would have won their region without the Transfers, now they should win State . I'm fairly sure they will have more transfers starting than they do kids who attended greenback through grade school. Thats Just unheard of. DANG.  If the shoe was on the other foot and Coalfield was getting all these kids, Greenback people would be crying foul.

I think they would have still been good regardless. They had a very good entire line returning as well as the best WR and Lineman in 1A. Naturally Rutgerson, and Fields improved them drastically, but then you add the starting QB from Maryville... That puts them over the top IMO.. No excuse for them not to win it all now.

We got some as well, but only 1 of them is a starter. The Nelson kid from Marion played in 1 game and got hurt. From my understanding he’s not starting. The lineman they got didn’t play last season. The kid from Hardy High hasn’t played in 3 years and some other kid has never played HS ball at all.

Apples and oranges on the transfer front. lol

They have enough home grown studs to be a very good team year in and year out. The transfers have just helped put them over the top. They have the perfect mixture of home grown talent and great talent from other programs coming to them.  I’m envious of it to say the least. The high profile studs that have come to Greenback the last several years are pretty phenomenal. Kids move at times, I get it. However Silvey and Roberts absolutely we’re huge in 2016-2017 as both were all state  STUDS. Bailey has been huge lately.  Brown from Seymour was huge last year and will be again this season. Rutgerson, Fields, the kid from Tellico, and Carnes will be this season. Then you have Jeffries that came as an 8th grader. He will end up being an SEC lineman. They definitely get great players. I wish SP could learn the trick. It seems like most of the transfers we get rarely become big time for us. I’m not even sure we’ve ever had a transfer make all state at SP.

Barney, Them GB fellers has less gold balls than them kinfolkes. Theys been skeerd and them GB folkes have become a victim of some Snake Oil Salesmanship and theys trying to perfect it as a group. Ain’t No trick, it is orchestrating the needs, period.

Wasn't too long ago some of you guys were saying "Build it and they will come". GB has built a good program and kids are coming. They've definitely had a good run lately and if there were some of those big schools around us that kids were transferring from I doubt seriously any of us would turn them away. A few years ago the lineman from NJ (I think it's Capt Jack's son) came to sp and was a terror. Everybody in the valley wanted Sanders in 8th grade and you guys got him. Tipton was a beast in middle school at Bridgeport. I wish he would've never left the state of Alabama to go to high school lol. We all get some and we lose some. Gotta play the kids you've got. It's  a LONG season and you never know what will happen by November. Should be an epic battle providing both teams make it. That ball bounces funny sometimes.

Completely agree but let’s not forget MC benefited from a transfer also! I know some have forgotten but the 08 Warriors were lead by a transfer! Of course like I’ve stated many times already, transfers do not guarantee wins!

Line up and play ball! May the best team that night win!

MC has benefited from transfers just as much as any of us over the years.

For sure and that kid was a stud. We all benefit from time to time. We recently added a couple that will definitely help us this year as well. Like I said sometimes you get some sometimes you lose some. I also believe we lost a rb that led Boyd Buchanan to their first  state title.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.

    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
