What is the problem with Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) that few if any high school football coaches with past success will not even apply for open positions?  Is it as I feel with the Metro Council, Director of Schools, Mayors Office and 99.0% of the administration being employed by MNPS are just a complete joke?

Who would want to work in a school system like you just described?

The only thing good about MNPS is that the pay is good.  Someone that wanted to make good money, wanted very little pressure and could careless if they won is who appears to be attracted to the MNPS jobs.  Occasionally you will find a great coach that is in between jobs and will take a job for a short period of time before moving on to a better position.

Only thing is good pay? Metro has some good. What about a guy who wants coach football and work with kids. Don't all players that want a good coach. Don't they deserve as good a coach as others. Players who will work with right coach. Careless if they win,is that all there is? . So coaching is all about winning? If so then a lot of  jobs in Tennessee are not very good, not just Metro. I need you to describe what a good or great coach is. So the only good coach wins?

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
