Westview beat Dyersburg again by 10. Freshman Jada Harrison was co-mvp for district and then tournament mvp. It’s going to be fun to watch what she can do over the next three years!
South Gibson’s win over Crockett Co kind of surprised me though. I was expecting Crockett to win after seeing South Gibson against Westview the other night.

I know a couple of SGCs kids and they didn't play WV like they played Obion and Crockett. Not sure wat the game plan was vs WV but they looked scared to death and wouldnt shoot or play hard. They did both of those things against Obion and Crockett

Big shack up last night in the East in 2A, with Alcoa, South Greene, and Northview all going down, the only teams to survive that must where picking was Grainger and Meigs. The biggest shocker to me was Elizabethton beating South Greene, I definitely didn’t see that coming.

Elizabethton has played a grueling schedule while Central and the other teams making an early exit played weak non-district schedules with an exception of a couple games. Makes a difference. I think Betsy will keep it closer with Grainger than most think!

Who are the 8 to make it from this point?

Well I think some of this will just be a pick because I don’t know enough about them, but I would go with.

Grainger

Gatlinburg-Pittman

Meigs County

Macon County

Westmoreland

Nolensville

Westview

Covington

The west TN teams are just a guess, maybe someone from over there can give us a better idea.

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
