Sad..........RR!

"Board member Brandy Bledsoe said she............"

Straight from the article you plastered in six different threads....sigh.

Bledsoe + Bledsoe = 2 Bledsoes...............

This stuff is already on the Internet. We discuss stuff here. I haven’t made any comments positive or negative. I just thought LOD would get a kick out of it and he threatened to shoot me. Then he couldn’t access the link so I posted the text. Then coach got involved since I posted an article... call the local paper and tell the education reporter to knock it off.

I never buy the local paper because the present owners have destroyed it. Not sure how they afford to pay the light bill at The Daily Times much less still in business.

The reality is that Alcoa has players from all over, they have been getting kids like this for years. Do most of them play sports yes do most them go to Alcoa to play football yes. We all know this but yet nothing will come of this. Its good to talk about but that about it. When the kid dad went on a twitter rant I think everyone knew what was about to happen. He was going to leave the school and end up coaching at another school and bring his son along. They looked at every school that was successful and which ever one that was willing to pull the trigger and hire his dad was going to get him. Do I blame Alcoa for this no every program would be doing the same thing. If they can get a Stud kid that can play and is in good standing and be a force in sports why not do it.  The only thing about the article that made sense was him talking about if we going to get kids like this then we should be a private school

If 'grades' are REALLY important, then take a look at the teams average vs the same number of other kids in the school.  I am willing to bet the teams average is LOWER.  Rankin has never been a big promoter of grades for his players.  As long as they remained eligible is all that mattered to him.

Gary Rankin's almost total lack of caring about the kids grades started my first battle with him when my son played for him at R'dale.  I insisted my son maintain a B average.  Rankin's comment was just stay ELIGIBLE!

= butt hurt because Rankin left Riverdale for Alcoa.

    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
    • during the 2nd round of the playoffs last year against Milan, Gray partially tore his meniscus. He had a minor repair around Thanksgiving. Recovery time was minimal and he has been full force for baseball this season.
    • What do ya’ll think the O/U will be? I would set the line at 2.5
    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
