Alcoa vs Blackman

This is just me guessing but that 3-4 defence could get Alcoa in deep trouble against a larger 6A team that has some big boy's. I saw how well WB and Heritage did against it in the jamboree. If someone had told me before that game Alcoa got a package deal with a coach and son combo I would have thought Sal Sunseri and one of his boy's had come to town. Gary what are you thinking, remember how Sal brought that garbage to Tennessee and set the program back into the stone ages. Get your head on right and quit messing with perfect.

Just have to trust Coach Nix and the defensive staff. Alcoa's non region schedule is brutal this year.  But it will get them ready for the real goal, the Gold Trophy.  We'll see what happens.  I don't put much stock in the Jamboree. I know a team that won a Jamboree then later that season lost to that same team 66-7.

You don't have to tell me that brother. I saw a team tie Maryville one year and lose every game on the schedule and Maryville won the state in 2A. I also saw a qb for Maryville run for an 80 yard TD his sophomore year and turn out to be the biggest dud in school history at that position. Those games mean a lot more to the smaller or weaker teams to be able to tell their grandchildren during the holiday times.

Blackman is down after losing several nice players from last season. Alcoa is not. Alcoa by a bunch.

Well we've all heard that's why Rankin scheduled them in the first place but a school that has 129 players out for football in a county growing like a kudzu vine is likely to find some good replacements.

But most of them are at Oakland.  Kids in The Boro seem to find their way there, now, if they can play football.

Close game for a half, and then Alcoa's athletes take over.  Comfortable win for Alcoa.

I agree. Oakland is the place to be since Coach K. Creasy has been there. 'Boro people still like to act like they are the SEC of TSSAA football, but the truth is it's more like when Maryville was in that old Z-Plan District (or was it a Region) with 6A and 5A schools. It was the Snow White Conference. Oakland is Snow White and all the others are the Dwarfs.

    • While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years? Everything that I have stated has been backed by factual evidence or public record, so no need to be sharp and witty.
    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
