Dad Burnit, Figure this fence jumper done turned Meigs into a power house. Old Pirate says #19 is a rare 1A player. OP, jest wondering, how many players from Bledsoe are on the team?

This is what I responded to Bass. I don't take offense at comments about transfers. As i said, parents and kids are gonna do what they are gonna do. I'm only watching football.

You must have a hard time following what im saying.lol.Because thats EXACTLY what im talking about.Meigs,Seq,Loudon,Lenoir City are teams we all schedule to make us better because other than Coalfield and OS our regions arent very good.Yours is really down since Whitwell went back to being Whitwell.I wouldnt be surprisef if Copper Basin isnt second to you all this year.

You guys always have a tough schedule,  it just makes you all better in the long run.  Good luck Friday.

I hope so. I’m looking forward to watching this game. Our boys better come to play Friday!!

Yeah ours better be ready too. Both teams should want to prove something now. In all honesty this game should be more competitive considering your teams loss and mines struggle with our first games.

Feuds like this one is what makes high football great. Unfortunately, regions are traditionally far weaker than strong. The Pirates schedule upgraded of Redbank, Meigs and  Huntland along with regular rivals Sequachtie County, Jasper and Whitwell were thought to be the most challenging in years. However with Jasper & Whitwell not doing as well as expected that remains to be seen. The Meigs QB reminds OP of the Jasper QB a few years ago but bigger.

I didnt understand why he was returning punts though.

That was something I hadn't seen in a couple years as well. No clue what they got going on that. He used to be an absolute threat when he returned punts or kickoffs. But they went away from that mostly probably to keep him from getting hurt.

    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
