They went through the motions and then both dropped the litigation before it was ruled on and they agreed to meet in front of the board of control on Tuesday. Wow.

Where is ol guard puller?! Def want to hear his no doubter case all over again.. Just needling and don’t mean any harm I promise.. he is obviously 18 times smarter than me... but in all seriousness how is it nobody has brought up the kid in question here also skipping out on his alternative school punishment for being caught with a left handed cig at previous school and nothing ever more coming of it? Not gossiping here at all, these are facts known at previous school by coaches and admin.   Just not sure how those KEY adults at FC have been shouting from the roof tops on how they were going to win this legal smegal matter and then run it up in the post season... seems like a private chambers talk with the local judge changed that tune faster than hiccups..

Well well well

Did anyone actually read todays article in the Tennessean about the litigation being dropped and holding the appeal on Tuesday. Fayetteville isnt appealing the eligibility. They are appealing on the grounds of authority of the decision maker. Isnt that sort of an admission that they know the kid is actually ineligible?

No not really considering that the initial decision from the T$$AA was that he was eligible.  If the acting director has no authority to make that decision then they have a good case. If he does...then I guess they are SOL.

"Fayetteville's complaint to the Lincoln County chancery court included that the TSSAA's constitution and bylaws include "numerous provisions that require the TSSAA executive director to perform certain duties including the initiation of investigation, notification to the school that it is being investigated, evidence-gathering, conduction hearing and determination of whether a violation has occurred, and, if so, what penalties should be imposed."

The complaint stated that there is no provision by which Childress may delegate his duties."

Appealing his authority and not his eligibility. They know he does not live within the bus route of Fayetteville City High School and thus is ineligible. They just dont think the assistant  has any authority to make this ruling.

    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
    • Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
    • Facts...until someone takes down the Rebels they should be the favorite. Got loads of young guys salivating at the opportunity to prove themselves and get a 3peat! Blazer how is Region 1 looking this year?
