I remember a situation years ago.A team in the smaller division got in but filed a lawsuit as they had to forfeit. Can’t remember who they were supposed to play but that team practiced for the school who filed the lawsuit. That Wednesday they lost the suit & Lookout Valley who had been practicing for that team all week got in & pulled the upset. That school was mad as heck

2000. LV got in and went on to beat Sunbright

Fayetteville City schools and Lincoln County schools do not operate from under the same school board.Fayetteville city schools have their own and Lincoln County has their own.The same for buses.A lot of the other county’s that have open school zones operate from under the same school board.

This is something that keeps getting overlooked by folks.

I'm curious to which ones are all the same I've never heard of that.

Maury County are all under the same school board. Spring Hill HS, Culleoka, Santa Fe, Mt. Pleasant, Hampshire, Columbia Central, and the new Battle Creek that will be open in the future. Players can live in any of those school zones (and even out of county) and play at one of the other schools. I'm sure there are certain requirements but they aren't hard to do because it's done often in all sports.

Williamson, Rutherford, WIlson, Giles, Marshall, Lawrenceburg, etc... are all the same way. Now in some of those counties WIlliamson and Rutherford the bigger cities like Franklin and Murfreesboro have their own school board for elementary grades but are all under one school board for High School.

I don't know of any that aren't that way most cities and counties are separated as far as the school board's go.

Whitwell and South Pittsburg are part of the Marion County School system.  Huntland and Franklin County are both ran by the Franklin County school system.  Gordonsville and Smith County High are both part of the Smith County System. Those are 1a examples. There are others.  Chattanooga used to have a City System in addition to Hamilton County, but the City quit and forced Hamilton County to take over Kirkman Tech, Riverside, Tyner Academy, Howard, Central, City etc.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
