There were quite a few high level programs in this showcase. The real question is why were teams like UH and Johnson County in it? It’s one thing to play this in the summer but another thing to do it in the 2nd half of the season right in the middle of conference play. Counting the Thursday night OT game against NG, UH had to play 3 games in a row all weekend and then start back district play tonight. Nothing good comes from getting demoralized against Oak Hill and Bluefield in January and leads me again to scratch my head at the leadership and decision-making of this team’s staff. Say what you want about Penley but he would have never done something this asinine. But of course the school got paid to essentially be the Washington Generals so all is well. I’ll get off my soapbox now, sorry.

Well, that is a good question! If you got the horses to run in a tourney like that, I'm all for it....if not, stay home.

I always liked Penley for the most part

Anytime they lose, America wins.

They went down again at Hampton tonight. Hampton didn't shoot as well as UH did tonight but UH darn sure didn't shoot like they did at home....I don't know if I'll ever see that kinda shooting in HS again.

Lyons has been coming with it and developing into one heck of a player...Big game out of our sophomores

Lyons is really showing all sorts of potential. I've noticed he's playing on court alongside Oaks more now, which is a tough combo!

Yes they are....get them the ball quick and its points. We had a couple that played scared and need to step it up tho!! UH has a couple players that are above average but are great if not defended strong. They tried to get physical once or twice, but that backfired as that's how the football players like to play...If you noticed, playing physical and bodies hitting the ground took the "flare" out of the game tonight.

This week in District one has shown a lot of parity. SN v Hampton, SN v NG , Cloudland v Unaka, Hampton v UH, and UH v Unaka all were won 1 point to 3 points (one possession games).                                                                      Big win by Hampton last night to assure a top 2 finish to stay out of the one and done District games. With teams playing so evenly, the 3 v 6 and 4 v 5 games should be interesting to say the least this year.
