pioneer42
if the games aren’t finished. Schools and fans spent a ton of money to get there with hotels, food, gas, lost vacation days, etc....tens of thousands of dollars lost that is against tight budgets not to mention ruining senior years for this. NCAA is stepping to the plate and granting extra years of eligibility to some of these sports. These HS kids deserve something and closure since the TSSAA is liable for the losses incurred. It is time for the TSSAA to step up to the plate. Edited March 15, 2020 by pioneer42
Greenfieldfan
I agree but I had rather play the games. Even if it’s coaches & players only we would like to finish the tournament. Please consider all our options before you cancel the tournament. If it means moving to another location to finish I think each team would be willing to do that.
gogold
We'd like to see these games played out on the court. If they won't then that is a distant 2nd choice.

gcfan2
It's a sad situation. Girls have spent months if not years to get an opportunity like this and for the TSSAA to jump the gun so quickly is beyond me. Hotels , restaurants and shopping malls are all open and to me there is a better chance to contract Coronavirus in those places. But what do I know, I'm just an old high school basketball fan that looks forward to this time of the year all my life. This is worse than the year when GC made it undefeated. Played the first round against Livingston Academy (I think) and got beat and went home. Best I remember, they had a girl with the last name "Hawhee" or something like that. I got so tired of hearing her name called I almost threw up.

It for sure don't pay much either! So I lost my measly salary for that day and spent a lot of $$ to make this trip. The TSSAA surely will come up with a viable option that's fair for the 4 teams that are left in Single A.

My family spent about $1300.00 on the trip not counting losing money from not working because I work for myself. No telling what the total number would be with all fans and teams. A whole lot!! Those seniors must graduate with their cohort and do you think they want to come back for a 5th year of high school?? This is a great life lesson on how sometimes things don't work out in your favor and you must overcome and persevere through it. It is a tough situation but it was the right decision by the TSSAA. Their responsibility is to the safety of players and coaches, not the fans. Plus MTSU would not let them continue and the majority of school districts across the state have shut down athletics. Just saying the NCAA is stepping up to the plate and TSSAA needs to as well by granting these girls shared titles if they don’t play. Not to hard to do that. Time for them to step up to the plate. It's unfortunate but there will be no state champions in basketball this year besides DII.
