They lost in the 3A finals to Marion Co. He was a beast of a running back and would have played big time college ball if his grades were better. He ended up at NorthWest MS Community College. Had scouts from the Dallas Cowboys and other nfl teams coming to games and practices but off the field issues ended his football career. Special talent though no doubt. There was a big RB for Humboldt that killed us at home one year in the playoffs, I think maybe in 92. May not have been the one mentioned here because he would have been a sophomore that year. Hope I’m not making anyone mad talking about this on this thread. Edited November 22, 2020 by JacketLover
BIGPURPLEMACHINE
Additionally legendary Milan Coach John Tucker was the coach of that 1995 Humboldt team. He retired from Milan at a 10-6 loss to Sweetwater in the 2A Clinic Bowl in 1993. He came back and took a different team to the championship in his first year. Left Humboldt after 2 years to take over a horrendous Gibson Co program for 1 year. They were 0-10 the year before he came and took them to 6-4 and a playoff appearance in that 1 year before retiring for good.

You still have the same radio guy too!

I was on the Lexington teams that played against Kelcey. At one point every NFL team contacted him. There is a documentary about Williams's career called Big Tyme. He was a beast. We (LHS) were undefeated rolling into that game. We beat them in Lexington in 1994. Edited November 22, 2020 by 1Eugatnom

That kicker y’all had was awesome as well. That’s a good quality video package for 95.

Both the 94 and 95 teams were among the best in Haywood Tomcat football history.
