they did file motions in court, drug out for a couple weeks. the assistant director declared him ineligable after the director cleared him twice then went on medical leave

Are you saying Fayetteville's AD and Assistant AD, or the TSSAA's cleared him?
I'm not sure a Judge in a higher court would hear any action against the TSSAA anyway, unless it could be easily proven they intentionally did anything wrong. The TSSAA's decisions are grabbed out of the air many times - and they may make different decision depending on the school.

Talent alone doesn’t always win you the game.    I’m mad and I won’t be on here much for a bit.  It’s a small town and I have to live there.  Nevertheless Faye City deserved it, prepared well, and coached a great game.

Wish you well Mike. Think highly of you and Tom

We actually played them in week 8, so it was later in the season.

If I remember right, City was without about 8-10 key contributors when they played Gordonsville. Several were suspended after coming off the sidelines the previous week, and I believe the four that had transferred back to City from Lincoln County didn't become eligible until after that game.

I said in my LC vs Fayetteville post last week that #3 is very talented.Abd Fayetteville will be tough next several seasons.Lake Co also has a standout running back that more than held his own against Fayetteville.Im thinking he had 175 yards. And I think Fayetteville had a better defense. With Fayetteville,Lake Co.,Trenton and Mckenzie, the west will dominate next several seasons.

LC would have still won. I’m unbiased either way

sorry. Wrong quote

AND the test results show...scores against common opponents mean squat...

Also, #3 for CITY was clearly the best player on the field, look out the next 3 years...

Just my opinion, BUT if CITY had more creative play calling they could have won by a couple scores, almost went to the well too many times, had they allowed their calls to feed off the success of #3 they would have found more success...

At any rate great game for both teams and maybe some fans will finally learn NOT to count their chickens before they hatch...

Google the story, the TSSAA director cleared him twice, then was put on medical leave, then the assistant TSSAA directo( now in charge) declared him ineligible. school filed a restraining order, and then dropped it day before deadline i think

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
