Playoffs Round 1: Dyer County @ Henry County

We have lost to a 6A title contender in Summit, lost by 10 to another 6A team in Beech, we was up 14-0 at the half on 6A Brentwood before losing to them by 7. Lost by 3 to a legit threat to make it to the 5A title game in Springfield, and finally lost to an extremely athletic team by 14 at their place in Paducah Tilghman. My point is we have played some really stout competition. A lot of people may be fooled by this 5-5 record and for our sake I hope they do overlook us. We made the necessary changes going into our 9th game of the season against Clarksville NE, and have put up 100 points of offense the last 2 weeks. All I'm saying is if this offense continues improving, we may be hitting our stride at the exact right moment.

Yeah, not taking away from the boy’s win, but Portland is not a good football team. But, we’ve also lost to some not so good football teams this season so you never know. Hopefully we don’t do just that tonight.

I think HC takes this one, and I think it will be closer than some think. HC has made some adjustments, so I'm not basing it off the last 2 games against a NE team that didn't make the playoff and a Portland team that was not very good.
The only head scratcher game was Paducah - not sure what happened there.
The other losses: Summit, Beech, Brentwood, Springfield : were all VERY good teams and a couple of those games HC was just a play short.

Those games hopefully prepared HC for a run.

Of our 5 losses, only Summit is what I would consider a great football team. The rest were bad losses. Springfield and Paducah Tillman shouldn’t have been within two scores of us. We went conservative and gave Brentwood a W a la DC 2019. Beech was a toss up, but I still think we’re better than they are, they were just better that night. HC has beat themselves in 3 losses, 4 really with Beech. We should be minimum 8-2 if not 9-1 right now.

I can’t disagree with most of that. Honestly, team chemistry seemed to be lacking early in the year. I know we are worried about this year but I really feel next year will be a very very good one. What do you think?

yeah. Check them out. They are ranked like 2 teams below DC on MX prps. You know on the 2nd page. And they had just upset a much higher ranked station camp the week before. And had a lead over Springfield going into the 4th quarter. They were seen as a pretty good team. Our records were tied if I remember correctly when we played. We can’t all be number one like the choketaws. Lol. on  the 2nd page

Man, idk. Yeah we should have beaten Brentwood after having that lead, probably should have beaten Springfield and Tilghman. I'm not super upset with the Beech loss. Beech is Beech. Mad respect for them. So yeah I can see a possible 8-2. Let's just hope with all the craziness that has went on this season that starting tonight we can show that we are better than a 5-5 team.

They fact you put any stock in Mx Prps rankings tells me all I need to know. Go ahead tell me about how good 3-7 Northeast is too. The team y’all barely squeaked by 44-40??
