The Band Boosters smoke a fantastic bologna sandwich.  Keep an eye on that pet hog if lines get long at concessions!

Bologna sandwiches should be available, but I will confirm for those Lion fans hungry after such a long, arduous trip down to Tiger Hill.  Concessions usually open up around 6 for those early birds.  But let me tell you, the Smash-Burgers are the Shizz!  I usually get one of each--after I've eaten at one of the local joints in town!  So I highly encourage ya'll to wait until you get to the school campus and eat, but if you may be coming down I 65, and can't wait to get to the stadium, then stop at Nick's Grill right off exit #14 in Frankewing.  It's in the lobby of the Motel 6.  What?  Yes.  You will not go wrong.  Try the Street Burrito w/ carnitas or your choice of protein and the Street Fries.  The onion rings are next level also, like our football team. The burgers are also a great choice.  Or The Cuban sandwich.  Or, the Chicken Quesadilla.  ORRRRR, if you get here with plenty of time to spare, try Edz Wingz on Oak Street.  Google it.  Best wings, burgers, brisket quesadillas, and smoked thighs in a 50 mile radius.  Don't expect fast food, this stuff is worth the 2.5 hour drive you're going to be making.  Get them wet.  Skip the celery. And the Fried Green Beans or Hot/Fresh Pork Skins are great apps also. Tell them Varo sent you.

Totally agree with Varo's choices. I will add that if you want country cooking, buffet -style try Marvin's Family Restaurant

If you want steak (although prices right now are rather high) then Sarge's at I-65 is a good choice. I hear the smothered chicken is good but haven't tried it. I like steak. :) It is right across from Nick's Grill.

Mexican? Las Trojas Cantina is the only one I have tried. It is good.

I wish the place that our team always stopped when I was in high school at Lawrence County was still there- The Angus Steakhouse. Great Steaks.

Coach, you're right.  Marvin's is a great place to tie on the feedbag.  The fried chicken is spectacular.  For my Mexi-fix, I really enjoy our our most recent addition--Las Poblanitas just off the square.  Used to be the old Cattleman's, and a dozen other things.  Huge portions and the service is top notch.  If you like hot, ask for the Salsa Picosa.  A bowl of home-made hot sauce that will set you free.  For our out of town friends, there are also several choices in the downtown square.  While Honey's is a good choice, you can't go wrong with The Local or even Cahoot's.  It used to be the old jail a million years ago, and the jail cells are small dining rooms.  I could go on and on, but won't keep boring ya'll with food instead of football!  Go Tigers!

i'm now hungry.   hevy  let's skip the game and hop around trying food

Indeed. Maybe talk a few of their star starters to restaurant hop with us & give us a taste-test tour to all of them eateries just before the game, showing us the ropes, I say it’d be the neighborly thing for them to do. Yummy yum idea!

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
