This is a good question. If you plugged in a few offensive linemen from last year, would you say the Pirates are the favorites for the East? Nobody is beating the West side but strictly the East. Think about it, skill players are back, QB can throw and run, D line is solid, and I think we have a secondary that matches up well with Gordonsville and Clay. Everyone has kind of wrote off this team because of the O line woes when in reality that’s the one missing piece. A huge piece, but SP is still a threat in a watered down division.

If not for injuries I think this years guys do just fine.  If had two TE’s hear it would be:

TE - Starkey

T - Tyler or Garmin

G - Huntley

C - Lewis

G - Slatton or little Garmin

T - Davis

TE - Peacock

Thats a really good line IMO.  Each of those players have gotten better every week.

The clay county Gordy region will be like SP/Whitwell was obviously it was this year and the east will run through that region next year.

Clay County has a dream schedule next season that gives them every opportunity to compete in December for a gold ball. Gordonsville and Jo Byrns are both at home (Last time Gordonsville played in Celina it was a 35-6 route in 2019. Jo Byrns last lost in Celina 48-7). Assuming the Bulldogs win both of those, the first, second, quarterfinal, and semifinal rounds would all be at home as long as they keep winning.

How many seniors does Clay have that actually play?
