I agree with you. They always seem to have some very good athletes but the few times I’ve seen them they are also smart and rarely beat themselves. That’s a sign of great coaching as you know.  However, No matter the record the teams that come out of Memphis in the substate are always good so it will be interesting to see how Middleton fairs against the loser of that region tournament.  I’d love to watch a substate game there!  What a great high school basketball atmosphere it would be!

It would be worth your time to make the trip just once. Their fans are rabid and loud, but nicer than most anyplace you visit. The train whistle is sometimes a bonus (tracks are right behind the gym), and the temperature inside will be north of 80 degrees no matter how cold outside.

Unless they have a bad game, I think there's only one team in the western side of the state who can keep it a single digit game, and that's Peabody.

@HereComesTheCloser and @Swipes ... Yall done? LOL Yall got the thread trending and nothing to do with the thread. LOL I love the passion for the schools though for sure. Greeneville definitely played a tougher schedule. South Side has more of a winning tradition in hoops. Greeneville gotta a chance to win back to back. South Side is hungry because of last season. It should be interesting... IF I SAY AGAIN IF they both make it to the boro.  lots of hoops left to play for both teams.

I must admit; they have been very entertaining! If  both teams meet in the championship game again, wow what matchup! But like WestTNHoopFan said "there's lot of hoops left to play for both teams."

It was funny though. LOL

Too funny! I totally slept on Greenville and did realize that has so much coming back but South Side is a very talented team and should make for good championship game; I just hope they don't have to meet before that.

are boring everyone here. And wasting everyone's time.

The manager wants you back from break now.

Your conversation is over.

Now that he's been properly dispatched, what is everyone's predictions for the dance?

Let’s go @HereComesTheCloser we don’t do that @ South Side! We have class & we let the ball do the talking. We let one get away from us last year, but Greenville is the defending state championship! Sometimes the better team doesn’t always win, I look forward to the rematch. It’s a lot of basketball to be played in region so I don’t give a rats butt about Greenville or anybody else at state. We got a tough South Gibson & a hungry North Side team to worry about. Then substate to worry about! It’s a long road to be arguing about Greenville!

Solid list; I have

1A Middleton with Peabody nipping at their heels

2A East Nashville, Bolivar would be my sleeper team

3A Jackson South Side

4 Bartlett

1A) I have MAHS and depending on brackets I have Middleton. But Clay County & Trenton right there.

2A) East Nashville & I predict Bolivar to make a run

3A) South Side & Greenville would be a great match up! Revenge season baby!

4A) I have Cane Ridge(Remember the name… Bradon Miller) Bartlett could possibly challenge wit the sharpe shooting by Amarr Knox

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
