Man that's how Memphis does things and the TSSAA doesn't care what they do. If Lake County or Peabody or anyone does this they would drop the hammer.

Did what exactly? Their school closed. They had to go to a different school. If Humboldt City Schools closed tomorrow and all the football players went to Medina and Trenton nobody would be on here saying a word. There isn’t even anything to investigate here.

Yes if the entire football  team just transferred to Trenton they would be !

My question would be is this the closest school to the one closed. And is the whole school that closed going to Mase or they have their choice to to to other schools  but maybe Mase hired this coach to get the players?

Why yes there would be. If they didn’t move and Humboldt closed they would at that point be zoned for Gibson Co. if they went to Trenton that would be illegal transfers.

What difference does it make? I don’t think MAHS or MASE are zoned schools. So those students probably didn’t live near MAHS either. Also coach Miller is a good coach with a good reputation. If you had a coaching vacancy and he is available why wouldn’t you hire him. Why is it every time a Memphis school is possibly going to be good these boards start whining?

Because if 40 kids just moved around in rural areas and just built allstar teams it wouldn’t be right just like it’s not right in Memphis plain and simple and why would anyone want teachers or coaches from a school that was so crooked from top to bottom it’s charter was revoked ?!

Because they play by a different set of rules in Shelby County, but still compete against the rest of the state. How is that fair Toinmac? Their whole county is open enrollment and not just as a freshman like every other county in TN. They can transfer to any school in Shelby county and not have to sit out a year. Shelby county should just make an all star team and travel the states playing the best of the best.

So your problem is people there have options? Rural people move. Kids switch schools. Seems to happen every where. Charter schools are plague on the public school system diverting funds that could be used to improve the existing schools. Those kids and parents deserve better and I hope they are getting better at MASE but unless you know of some impropriety by Coach Miller why shouldn’t he be working at MASE?

I won’t post in this thread anymore as it’s off topic but how is that you know that these people aren’t moving and being compliant? If you have some evidence submit it to the TSSAA otherwise you are just speculating. Memphis isn’t the only place where players change teams.

    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
    • during the 2nd round of the playoffs last year against Milan, Gray partially tore his meniscus. He had a minor repair around Thanksgiving. Recovery time was minimal and he has been full force for baseball this season.
    • What do ya’ll think the O/U will be? I would set the line at 2.5
    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
