I would love to see Hookfin back in west Tn. Just not sure if I would like to see him coaching anyone that’s  not Haywood. That’s the tomcat coming out in me.  Haywood didn’t have any luck facing him while he was at Liberty. IMO he was one of the better coaches west Tn has seen or had in recent history. Not exactly sure what went wrong for him in Arkansas.

That is what I have been hearing as well, from kids who do not really care about football, to the system not backing the coaches they do get. Administration support is apparently not there from the school level either.

I think this is a big part of the fall off in west Tn football. Jackson schools used to have competitive teams. Not exactly sure what happened but I hope they get it fixed.

I'd be surprised if Hookfin applied to JMCSS for another job.

    • Looks like he is pulling something but really can’t tell if it’s a sock, shoe or just the foot. Still shouldn’t have been called in state title match unless it gave someone a clear advantage.
    • The better kid won? He got called for potential 6 times. IMO a few was intentional. We will agree to disagree. The better kid won? Can’t say that the way it ended.
    • Gibson County will no doubt be in the mix, as will all the AA teams going to state this year.  To answer your question, yes GC did hold Molly below her season scoring average, but Bystry made GC pay for double-teaming Molly. And it was Molly's outstanding defense that turned the game around for Central when the game was on the line in the 4th quarter.  Her's a link to the article of the game. McMinn Central girls charge into Class 2A title game | Chattanooga Times Free Press
