Thanks WG!   Interesting take on D2.  Since I am primarily a football guy I tend to look at 195 and up.  Williams @ HWT looks out of place.  Hard to tell because not a lot of common opponents but just lost to MUS kid who placed 2nd at state last year and not on this list.  The rest on the list he has never beaten.  I looked at the region brackets and season record from last year.

Thanks.  FYI … I think Tyson Russell (Cleveland) is 2-0 against Lane Hicks (Bradley) so far this year.

138 in A for Soddy should be last name Cosper although he doesn’t always wrestle. Did well against some very good opponents but for some reason is in and out of the lineup.

D1 AA 113 looks off. I would go:

1. Jakob

2. Walker

3. Baltz (2-1 vs Creque)

4. Creque (1-2 vs Baltz, although Creque won the last one)

5. Miller (his wins aren't as quality as the others above). Miller gets Jakob possibly tomorrow if they wrestle straight up.  

6. Ferrer from Antioch (Has a win by fall over Graham)

I am going to drive a hour to watch the DB vs SHHS tomorrow. Should be a interesting match to watch.

Stiles is tough but I don't see Mason Jakob struggling in this one.  Way way more experienced at the national level than Stiles.  However, with that said it is a rivalry dual and weird things happen in rivalry duals.  My picks:

55-17 in favor of DB but I'm not counting 106 as I don't know either of those kids. I'm assuming straight up but I doubt that happens but SH doesn't have many options from 113 to 152.  Beck could maybe drop to 52 to avoid Norman.  SH could bump Beck to 170, Tate to 195, and Medina to 220 to try and help their cause.

Yeah, the Tucker kid is good also. He has some family problems I heard that kept him out of state last year. He may have won 132 in Single A.

The DII rankings are pretty far off to be honest, in my opinion.  Kids in wrong weights and some guys just way out of place.  That said, at least they got something out.  I have been working on my set and should be able to post here soon.  Was going to offer to the guys at pin-tn but if they have someone doing it that they want then I may just post here on CoachT.  Will be up to the guys at pin-tn if they want mine.

That's why I personally prefer ranked wrestlers, it takes all subjectivity out.  Ive watched Lane Hicks wrestle a lot and if I were doing the rankings myself, I would have him ranked for sure regardless of what happened early season, simply because I've laid eyes on him and watched him wrestled A LOT of close matches in middle TN, even winning some of them like against Jenkins and Justice.  But that's my subjective POV.  If a guy is from East TN making the pin tn rankings, he will most certainly have his regional POV which would then influence the rankings.  Fun to look at and discuss, but if anyone gets their feelings hurt for not being ranked, they shouldn't.

Hes got close losses but also some bad losses.

 

I agree he’s good and may place but don’t think he has any wins over anyone ranked.
