How about Smith County?!?!  They have been flying under the radar all year.  I watched them early this year and and again in region final where they were tied entering the 4th with York.  The improvement this group has made is amazing.  Those seniors are great leaders.  What a coaching job Coach Ferrell has done with this program.  Took them to sectionals in year one for first time in 40+ years and in year two they are in the glass house!  Wow!  I know you see this coach!  Go do something crazy now.

And just an FYI they have a loaded freshman class.  This program is here to stay!

Don’t tell me coaching doesn’t make a difference. Coach Ferrell deserves a big time raise if SC hopes to keep him there.

He deserves all the credit he can get.  He will say it’s the players but you don’t do go back to back season breaking 40 year records without having  an amazing coach.  The town is behind him,  the school is behind him,  and now the team believes they can do it.  They are clearly underdogs but a team that will run through a brick wall for their coach is dangerous!

No. The best team did win. They didn’t play well, but they did in fact,  coudos to  HD wasn’t downing them just reflecting on coaching or lack of it by Summertown

@Jaychapman what happened? Must have been bad.
I went to Loretto tonight because it was a shorter drive and I thought it would be a good game. I was wrong.

I would have to agree, Fillies have not played great the last two games but have found ways to win!  Gritty tough comeback!  Fillies had many questionable calls go against them.  Hats off to a tough Summertown team.  They have great guard play!

I think they are well coached, but they did take some questionable shots late.  Fillies made several clutch free throws down the stretch.  Pressure started to bother Summertown late.

    • Four kids? You don’t have clue. Poor kid you should do your research on what that kid was doing.
    • I stand by my recruiter accolade. Evans enrolled at CPA in high school. So many of CPA’s players attended their middle school and live close enough that CPA (and BA, MBA, Ensworth, & BGA) was a legit option. Bentley is pulling kids in from 30+ minutes away. He is hustling. I won’t assume that any of these players are on aid but the school is spending money on a new video board according to people on campus recently. I haven’t been to CPA recently but they never needed bells and whistles to impress me.  FRA doesn’t stand a chance against BGA in the fall.
    • The same thing?    That’s laughable!   It was so bad what the four of them did to that poor kid in htown that if I posted it, coach T would kick me off.  They should have been in jail during the season, not playing football.
    • Dekalb Co and Smith Co would have both went 7-3 if they had beat UHS like they had traditionally done in the past leading up to 2013. Thst would have made the Dekalb/Smith game for the regional title. Maynord didnt do any favors for SC with the schedule he left them. RB Milon was probably one the fastest I have ever seen for the Tigers. DT Eli Gill was best DT ever at Dekalb in my opinion.  RB Jalen Manning was a freak playing RB for the Owls. DT/OT King was a great two way player at around 290lbs. I have seen way way worse Smith and Dekalb teams than this year. And some bettet. Gordonsville did lose alot other that great RB. Agree, UHS should have beat all three and did. How they beat them is what was so impressive. Blowouts by halftime. I don't know thst UHS punted any in any first half of those games. One can argue Herron left to many starters in after the half, but the staff was young and enjoying first time success since the 90s.  I can remember a few 40 or more point games when DeKalb and Smith never took the foot off the gas verse the Bees. Particularly DC in 2011.  That's part of it.
