howdoitknow
Congrats to all of the Region 6 teams on advancing in the playoffs tonight. Region 5 is still a good region it's just tough that they were paired with such a strong region.

Region 5 has nothing to hang their heads about, tonight's results just validated what most were saying in August... the top 3/4 teams in R/6 were capable of winning a championship barring injuries and surviving their own region to advance. Peabody (last team in) and Adamsville (first team out) could probably have competed for regional titles in most areas in 2A. Eventually this region will be whittled down by one another if nobody outside can knock them off, but whomever makes it to the 'ship will definitely have some battle scars and steady nerves. Iron sharpens iron, and there's still some grinding left to do to see who's left standing.

Don’t forget that both Riverside and Chapel Hill used to be in it. Is anyone surprised that those two teams are no longer in it? I mean, no one would have ever expected Loretto to have a breakout year. Had it not been for them, who would have won R5 this year? Now, I’m not advocating a conspiracy here but, had tradition followed, who would have traditionally won R5 in this region in this set up? If Loretto has another banner year next year, who will replace them in R5 when they are moved to R6?

Exactly! This bodes Even for teams with 8-2 and/or 9-1 regular season records such as Hohenwald. Have to wonder if they scheduled better competition during the season if they would be more competitive and maybe win more in the postseason. Of course, it may also impact the season W/L records. Actually that's exactly what it means.. Granted "successful" is a term that is subjective. I guess it's relative to the amount of success you're used to having. Really good football teams don't lose in the first round. But if you ask this fan bases who are accustomed to winning seasons, they'll tell you regular season wins mean nothing as long as you get enough of them to get into the playoffs. An undefeated team losing in the first round is an upset and underwhelming no matter how you try to spin it. I'd bet good money that if you asked players and coaches on that undefeated Loretto team if they're satisfied or happy with that season, 99% of them will say no.

The Region that Clarksville is in is probably the weakest Region in 6A

You have to schedule a tough out of conference schedule to see where you stack up against competition. You can’t help who is in your region, but you can out of region.
