How many eating places, shopping centers and traffic lights. I know rural.

One thing we really noticed was how large some other 2A towns are in comparison to across Plains. Cross Plains boasts 1,800 people, one traffic light, a Dollar General, Piggly Wiggly, a gas station, a Mexican restaurant, and a family pharmacy/soda parlor. The line gets blurred a little with White House 15 minutes away, but Cross Plains on its own is very small.

I think Parsons has a traffic light and they do have people who know how to use a stove.

I don’t know what 1a has to do with 2a?  Look, as a Huntingdon fan, I  don’t pull for McKenzie, but what they have accomplished this year is impressive. No one in the state thought they would even make it past Moore Co. I’ve heard about the qb for S Pitt being hurt and it would have been a different game if he wasn’t. Do you think McKenzie didn’t have kids that were hurt. They had a big back and linebacker that was hurt and didn’t play half the season. They only lost by a TD. There were at least 3 or 4 equally as tough teams in the west in 1a.

Riverside may not win tomorrow, but they came out of the toughest region in the state. They are a tough bunch. I think it will show tomorrow. Good luck to both teams.

Think it really comes down to whats within 30 minutes. I know several 1 and 2a schools that have big towns.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
