redskins1998
I guess with Germantown's win, the question should now be asked, who is the state's best highschool football team, regardless of division. The way it looks to me, with Germantown's regular season loss to crosstown rival CBHS, 21-10, and CBHS losses to MBA in the regular season and Brentwood Academy in the playoffs, followed by MBA's 38-14 Clinic Bowl victory over Brentwood Academy the week following BA's victory over CBHS, there is no question but that MBA is the state's best highschool football team ... turbo
Well, many would disagree, but Huntingdon defeated 3 undefeated teams in a row to get to the gold ball. I'm sicking with the old gold and blue.
falconmom
Lincoln County, It was a heck of a season. this team was for sure aclass act. 10-
FairInMyFavor
Well, since most will agree that the best team doesn't always win....just like in MBA's first game with BA. The best team surely didn't win. So, with that agreed upon, the team that wins the state championship is not necessarily the best team. IMHO, the best team in the state was either MBA or Lincoln County.
FHSrebel27
You could make an arguement for Lincoln County being the best team in the state. However, I'll have to say it's MBA.
wjr
Friends, in Tennessee, the answer to your question is that there are 8 teams that can lay claim to "best" in state at the end of the season. All else is mere speculation and will never be truly known or settled here.
msmoker21
Our Fulton Falcons can definitely make a claim to that title!!!! GO Falcons...2003 3A Champs!!!!!
brothers15
The quality of football played in IIAAA is unrivaled. MBA=best in the state.
OSHSman
I'd say either Hillsboro or MBA. Sorry Turbo, but Huntingdon is a AA team, they don't have the depth to hang with either.
stones25
I'd say either Hillsboro or MBA. Sorry Turbo, but Huntingdon is a AA team, they don't have the depth to hang with either. I agree with both Hillsboro and MBA, but Huntingdon beat a David Lipscomb team that many thought would compete favorably against 4A teams and would win the state championship there. My top 3 would be: MBA, Huntingdon, and Fulton.
BigH_Outlaw
I am going with stones on that one, MBA.....who can really play with a recruiting powerhouse like that? Not many in the Southeast or even the country. Huntingdon is defenitely next, they could have taken on anyone at the end of the year and made them wish for mercy. Only third, I am going with the Milan Bulldogs, Yeah we beat em in the semi's but they would have smoked Lipscomb and about all 4 and 5a teams. I just wish sometimes that Huntingdon and Milan and the areas between would all consolidate. Rod Smith, Terrance Bell, and Chris Donald in the backfield. Not to mention everyone everywhere else. It would be scary.
itzme
1) MBA 2) Brentwood Academy 3) Christian Brothers 4) Hillsboro 5) Germantown Almost gave G'town the nod over Hillsboro, because they at least had the guts to play a DIIAAA team. Lost...but at least they played one.
