Oak Ridge @ Riverdale-Round 4

Well, as much as I'd like to see the state championship come back East, it's hard to cheer for a team that just beat you. All I can say it's a long haul up to Riverdale, and even longer on the way back when you get beat.

 

Roll Tribe, heck of a season

Went to the Riverdale/Cookeville game tonight and was kinda suprised at the final score, to tell you the truth, I thought that it would have been worse than it was. This does not seem to be the same Riverdale team that I saw back in week 3, especially on offense, they just didn't look as crisp as they did then. But they might have had an off night, or, the Cookeville defense may have been better than they thought it was. That said, they are still better than they were last year, and they handled OR at OR last year,( And we were there), and at this point I don't see them letting OR come in and beat them at home. I saw quite a few empty seats on the Riverdale side tonight and that I don't understand, but there were a lot of people standing around that would have more than made up for the empty seats.

The most enjoyable thing about the trip was the fact that the P.A. for some reason, was turned way down on volume, and I could just barely hear that OBNOXIOUS, and I mean OBNOXIOUS, p.a. announcer screaming at the top of his lungs every time that riverdale did something. I think that he is more interested in bringing all the attention to himself than to the game. I know Coach Rankin, and he is a class guy, and runs a class program, but, as far as Mr. Scream at the top of his lungs goes, i can do without him . Maybe that's why they had the volume turned way down, the home team may be tired of his old song and dance too.

The Wildcats are not your average kitty, weve played "tribes" before... geese-we just beat one! It's like the settlersand the indians...one tribe down-here comes another, but look around, the settlers won!

Riverdale plays no one until now every year, they should be undefeated. Cookeville - No. 2 in the state. You have got to be kidding me. If D-B was last ranked #1 and Cookeville was #2  and Oak Ridge is #3, then where is Riverdale ranked?

 

Riverdale has not played one single team that could beat Oak Ridge, D-B, Soddy-Daisy or Ooltewah for that matter.

 

Get ready for some real competition.

O......kay, please tell that to Smyrna, Lincoln County and a couple of other teams.

 

Also if Riverdale is sooooo bad and has played nobody then WHY are they ranked in the top 20 in 5 national polls? For that matter why aren't any of the teams you mentioned in the same national polls?

 

Not saying OR is bad because they are for sure a very good team. I am looking forward to watching them next week.

i think riverdale is the best and i think cook is better than db or oak ridge but next week we will see, sorry but that's just my opinion.

Yea, that's what everyone thinks every year they go up to Riverdale, and come home cryin' I'm no Riverdale fan, but I'm no OR fan either....Riverdale wins by at least 2 TD's.
