  1. You are honestly about to say with a straight face that Trousdale doesn't have issues of their own? Your town was about ready to can your head coach if he didn't beat Watertown! (talking about moronic fans) You keep losing credibility with every new post you make trying to belittle Gallatin and taking subtle jabs.

  2. Nobody picked us to go far in 2016. I was really the only Waverly poster on here screaming how good we was and nobody wanted to hear it. Waverly will have an outstanding line next yr that alone will get you pretty far. Then you mix some skill players to go with #8 and teams better watch out!!! Waverly has the talent.

  3. The ONLY problem with super stars some times there are some real jems. We have had several over the years that have not been used enough. TEAM we all make each other better

  5. another tough NC schedule for us again. hope we pick up another good one to replace pisgaah....cant beleive they "chit the bed" in their post season this year...i was pulling for them to get a state title......as for us....the Locomotive cranks back up in late January, so everyone else has a month and a half....ish....to play on the tracks, then it will be time to get off the tracks again, cause here comes that big Greene Locomotive machine, with a HAMMER leading the way .

  9. When cland was a state power, we had several transfers from avery co. A lineman named Paul Laws in 89 along with Eric Hicks. Lineman Averil Cooper in 92. Keith Buchannan, Allen, Storie, and Brandon Jones during the Mark Byrd era. That's only a handful but they were big contributors during Cland's state power days. The kids were here because they wanted to be and they were legal. We even stole one from Hampton in 94. We would not have been near as successful that year if he did not come. In 2018, moving forward, cland would help themselves if they would put the work in necessary to become good blockers and tacklers. We lived in the gym in the early 90's and reaped the rewards. They players of today have become lazy during the offseason. Not only cland but the rest of the county schools as well. I feel like they love football and they love to go all out on Friday nights but they don't want to live, breath, and drink it during the off season. If it were me, I would personally see to it and make it a requirement to train and condition all winter and summer. If they don't want to do it, then shut football down. I would rather be dead than to put the product that Jellico and unaka put on the field every year. This generation of soy boys have got to go and it starts at home. WE have to worry about cloudland, not greenback's transfers. Cland has to work to put cland in the best possible position to win football games

  10. I totally agree that Gallatin could be a great job if the necessary changes are made. The only problem that I see is that very few of the people in charge are willing to suffer through the pain necessary to become a great athletic program. It's still very much a "GOOD OLE BOY SYSTEM" in Gallatin and look at where that has got them. Regardless of what some people say the football program is not very good and has a long way to go if they are ever going to reach the success of the Calvin Short days.

  11. If you read this thread, that is the thought of some. I on the other hand agree with you. The county pay is a stumbling block but other schools in the county seem to find good coaches just the same. I think eventually Sumner will have to catchup in that department.

  12. So what happens when the coach leaves and takes another job. Kids just go back and forth like it’s AAU basketball. What happens to the kids in whitwell not getting a chance to play and improve bc kids from other towns are on the field so they quit playing. then coach does leave and kids that came over leave also and your back to 1-9 seasons

  13. I agree. BUT we have got to put more emphasis on our D something we have yet to do. We have always put everything in offense and just do the basics on D. We need to b agressive and confident. We have got to stop handycaping our corners and safety and start setting a edge on D!!!!!

  14. Region 5 CA is out. Lewis County lost some good seniors and pizzpatriot thinks they will be down in 2019. Eagleville will be rebuilding. Summertown, Loretto, and Community are not historically football powers. So that leaves one team as the preseason favorite: FORREST! In all seriousness, Forrest and Lewis County should battle it out for the Region Championship. Hope to see Waverly in Chapel Hill next year for a playoff game.

  15. They may can go multiple rounds, but they aren’t a legitimate threat to get to Cookeville. I think that’s what most say. I picked you boys as one of the two favorites the past few years in the west. You lost some outstanding players that you can’t replace. You won’t be a bad team, but not good enough for Cookeville. The biggest thing you have going for you is Columbia Academy is gone and it makes it easier to get to a possible semifinal game. The path to another semifinal definitely will be easier.

  18. Last comment by me.Knoxville Grace Christian Academy prior to 2010,put on three years probation for breaking the rules after a full investigation, for paying tuition for a player that helped them win district and region championships. Also providing housing for a kid whose parents were not even in the state at the time.Player also living with one of the administration whom was of no relation nor a guardian, who also helped win a district and region championship. Both of the players led GCA to a state tournament.I WAS ONE OF THE MAIN ONES UPSET ABOUT THESE KIDS WHO KNOCKED OUR BOYS (my oldest son was one of those boys) OUT of A CHANCE FOR A FIRST TIME EVER STATE TOURNAMENT OPPORTUNITY!II have had no quarrles since they fixed that mess.Other than periodical jokes. Greenback all legal no issues what so ever.YOU CANNOT COMPARE US TO GRACE!They cheated and it cost them. Jake very good post and we appreciate an outsiders point. Pujo i have no idea why you have turned into this whiner its just not like you.You didnt even comment much this year as you usually do and you have stocked up till the season was over to try and bring up an issue that isnt an issue.Good day old friend!

  19. Take a deep breath. I think my response was taken out of context, which happens quite often on message boards. I agree 110% it only matters who is at the podium at the end of the season, but like lost fans of sports enjoy following the polls through out the year. It typically brings out great conversation from fans all over the State of Tennessee. I was posting the score in case those that are in charge of this particular poll did not see that Father Ryan and Wilson Central wrestled last Thursday. That’s it. Nothing more. Good luck to you and your team in 2018-19. God Bless you and your family during this Christmas and Holiday season.

  20. I have always enjoyed your posts because you seem to be a straight shooter....but, from reading the last few pages of this thread it appears that jealousy is really eating away at you. Do you really and truly think that GB or any other school, including yours, should turn a kid away that moved into that school zone and had met all obligations set forth by TSSAA? No school in their right mind would turn down kids that were coming in the right way, I will go so far as to say that if a kid is moving in and abiding by the rules of TSSAA the school does not have a choice but to take the kid....they would be open to liability if they didn't take him. Would you expect the principal to say to a family that has moved and made Loudon County their home, "Well we can accept you in the school, but Johnny can't play football because he is not a lifelong GB resident"? Pujo, I respect you for the years of good insight and good posts that you have given, but, IMO you are way off base here. You are too good of a man to let jealousy cloud your judgment. Just my .02 cents.

  22. There is NO reason for that field to be that bad. Schools are given the funds to properly maintain it. I 'suspect' it was let go that bad to justify a plea for turf. If any school gets it, Oakland will probably be the first. Unfortunately they have to open the NEW Rockvale high school and set aside the funds for the NEXT one in the planning stages. Yes folks one new 6A school opening next year and another being planned.

  23. Good post young man. I remember growing up watching your uncle. Stick around here and post with us from now on. You joined in 2006 and only have 3 posts. It’s impressive that you even remembered your login information. Prayers for your family.

  24. Hey guys it’s been years since I’ve commented on these boards. But I watch and read all the time. I’m Dale’s nephew and just wanted to chime in and say thank you for remembering him on here and also thanks for the prayers. He would really appreciate this. Dale shared a lot of great memories over the years with me and the family, and was one heck of a ball player. Also, he was very proud and excited about his great nephew (my stepson),being part of the team #73. He was talking with me just the other day saying how we think this group of boys will bring back the gold one of the years before they graduate. Not only was he a huge pirate supporter but was one heck of a friend and personality to be around, and it showed every time we were in the stands. So many ppl came and spoke to him. And If you didn’t know him then you may know his loud booming voice when our boys lined up to kick the ball off, he would yell above the crowd “LETS HIT SOMEBODY!!!!” Man I’m sure going to miss that... But I just wanted to say thanks to all for taking the time to remember him and Thanks for the support, we sure do appreciate it. R.I.P #44. And until next year let’s hit somebody.
