  1. Come on, guys. Y'all know better than to bring politics on here. All of this and you have changed NOBODY's mind on either side. Start another one if you can stay on topic.

  2. See the problem you have with me is the same problem Trump has with Dr Fauci. Trump can’t control the narrative if Fauci is telling The Truth. You are trying present a Republican narrative with that article about negative tests not being reported and putting a Ron DeSantis tweet up. But countering your biased narrative with Actual Facts. if want to end it then you end your biased opinion

  3. I don't think the link is up yet but Governor said we would have high school sports. They've been talking almost every day. TSSAA is supposed to submit a plan to the Governor's staff soon!

  4. I'd go with Fayetteville then Cornersville, flip a coin on the rest. Mt Pleasant seems to always underachieve. New coach could make a difference in Moore County especially if his kid is a player.

  5. Watch the media briefing. Cases are going up because more people are getting tested. The percentage of sick people are staying the same. So you can assume around 9% of people have it at any give time. If you test 100 your going to get 9 positives. If you test 1000 your going to get 90. While that is an increase of 81 people tested positive its not getting worse. You just tested more people. I would suggest everyone watches Bill Lees media briefing when he lets the doctors talk. The numbers arent that bad when she explains it. I feel much better about all this then I did a week ago.

  6. We get it, you don't like President Trump. Go to MSNBC.com to vent. Political talk is unnecessary on these boards.

  8. It seems like Gov. Lee is getting ready to allow high school football and soccer to go on as scheduled. That would make total sense. It would be welcomed news for coaches and student-athletes all over this state.

  10. Agreed, hustler. 22, you and I can create a new thread if we want to continue the discussion.

  11. 22, we hashed this out in this thread weeks ago. This wasn't a CDC recommendation. This was a statement made by a WHO official, and that statement was ultimately backtracked. https://www.statnews.com/2020/06/09/who-comments-asymptomatic-spread-covid-19/ https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2020/06/who-clarifies-evolving-assessment-asymptomatic-covid-19-spread Based on what I've read since that WHO statement was retracted, there has been no consensus on whether asymptomatic carriers are driving the spread. The Proceedings of the National Academy of the Sciences published a big study about a week ago indicating that people with COVID-19, but who do not show symptoms, may be behind the majority of infections. But there are other studies showing that either could be true. The WHO currently maintains that "the extent of truly asymptomatic infection in the community remains unknown" and that "transmission from infected people without symptoms is difficult to study." The WHO findings are certainly debatable, since a lot of the data they cite are based on studies that were done primarily in China. https://www.who.int/news-room/commentaries/detail/transmission-of-sars-cov-2-implications-for-infection-prevention-precautions Bottom line, the answer is we [still] don't know.

  12. Gonna have to post a CDC link, or a reliable source. I haven't seen or heard any of that.

  19. You mean like Trump getting patents in CHINA for Ivanka or Trump asking china to help him win in 2020. Oh BTW senate republicans voted out the part in intelligence bill. That says you can’t get foreign help to win a election. Well unless you are a republican if you are a democrats is illegal. As for COVID-19, if you can let kids swim in a pool together you can open up schools in our area. But the reason why we are in this mess. Is because our leader doesn’t lead instead watches news all day and retweets stupid stuff from broke 80’s game show hosts who is trying to get a job FoxNews, so he can get away with harassing women like other FoxNews hosts. I can go all day. Because I’m fighting for my country. You are fighting to let a wannabe dictator make money for him and his friends. And that part about getting his political allies out of jail. That you deny.

  20. Not going to rebut anything you said... just a little background on myself in case (as it seems) that you think I'm a reckless, "devil may care" individual who thinks only of himself, and has no clue about CV-19. Three sisters and one daughter in the medical profession too, and nine members of my immediate family on the backside of CV-19. One sister (47) with a pretty severe immune deficiency was in bed for two days with aches and flulike symptoms, three 45-55 age adults with symptoms ranging from fever and body aches, to upset stomach, two teens with zero symptoms, and three 8-12 year old's... one had a low grade fever one afternoon and the other two with zero symptoms. I use my best judgement for masking up... I have worn one on several occasions in order not to intrude into others' comfort zones, in the grocery, at Sam's, at Lowe's, at my grandson's baptism (large church), and to a board meeting. I frequently go to local stores in my community without a mask, and you'll hardly see anyone around here wearing one. I maintain a respectful distance, and generally am a "keep to myself" person, virus or not. Just to be straight... I'm not a radical on either side of the aisle on this, medically or politically. The virus is real, is dangerous to the random "healthy" person, and obviously the "high risk" category. I am perhaps more careful because of my eighty year old mom... I'm determined not to be the reason she deals with this, but the realist in me says that we will all do so at some point, and I will not exile myself in a cave in order to "live" with no expiration date for the virus. I'm in God's hand, and he will do as he has had planned for me since my birth.

  22. A Doctor in infectious diseases who has served six presidents. Including the egomaniacal maniac currently in office who is more worried about getting re-elected and getting himself and his buddies out jail more than the public health. Dr Fauci actually tells The Truth, which Trump hates. BTW the reason Trump and GOP want schools to open is cause schools are polling places. And if schools aren’t open guess what polls aren’t open and you know what that means people have to vote by mail. Which the GOP is deathly afraid of.

  24. Coach Gaddis was interviewed on Diamondclearmedia's Knox County Media Day. He was asked if OT would throw or run more. He said they certainly plan on running Kendall Jackson a lot plus use their 6 top WR too. May try to get Jackson the ball on play action. Our District will be the beast in 5A. West, Powell, Fulton and Campbell county are stacked. Oak Ridge will have to GRIND but we are very good too.

  25. Posted this in the other thread, but almost every bordering State has announced football to start on time. Bama also has some good guidelines... https://www.wbrc.com/2020/07/07/ahsaa-proposes-rule-changes-upcoming-football-season/

  26. But the CDC has in fact adopted these protocols and guidelines. It’s not been publicized very well however. My contacts (Nurses and Health Professionals) in Alabama say they all received letters recently that says if they tested positive but are asymptomatic, they should continue with work as usual per CDC guidelines. Evidently, they feel strongly that asymptomatic people cannot spread this. Again, it’s this behind the scenes stuff from the CDC that is not publicized in the media...it’s maddening for the truth to not get out there properly and for these political games to be continuing. This is a major development, yet the media doesn’t cover it.
