It is a grind like no other but despite any adversity that may come, it is rewarding when I see the kids pick up on the little things and apply them. There are some really good kids in Metro sports who just need people to stick with them through the tough times.

Villars wrestled a very good, even if it wasnt long, match. He just got caught by an ELITE wrestler. He didnt back down for a second! I think Villars finishes that takedown on all but 2 kids (both have the last name Raney) in the building, one being a 4X Fargo Champ and the other being a U17 WORLD CHAMP! He just happened to be wrestling the U17 World Champ. Way to come out and wrestle hard Dylan, regardless of who the opponent was!

That one has been a curiosity to me for some time. I thought 2/3 should be flipped, although a 7-4 match was closer than I thought it’d be.

They have a nice post who uses her body really well and gets good positioning, have a good PG who is athletic and can take it to the rim and shoot it, also got a couple of other shooters as well. Kayla has done a great job with them. They have 23 girls I think. Just don't get rattled either. Pretty solid.

You do realize that when DB won the State two years ago there were players like Brandon Miller, Amarr Knox, JR Jacobs, Jarred Hall, etc. at the Glass House. Stop trying to down play what DB did at the highest level of Public School basketball in Tennessee

He will do good no matter where he went. I knew he was special when i saw him as an 8th grade RB at Alcoa and just carrying people like a man among boys! At least Tennessee won't have to face him every year like they would have if he ended up at Bama.

I would say more money and the talent level will be way down for the next few years at Meigs from what I’ve heard.

Great hire for Sweetwater. He was offered the job last year and declined.

I would go so far to say that any of the better teams in Tennessee like Cleveland or Baylor should not wrestle against each other in a dual match until the later part of January. With kids just getting out of football early in the season along with the weight reduction plan you really don’t get a very good representation of each team in December.

Baylor has dualed Blair 3 or 4 times recently. They always get handled but they keep going back for more. I think they know what they are getting into... They went up to Blair's home gym a few years ago and won 1 match. Perhaps they are masochist or perhaps they just like wrestling good teams. They went 4-1 at this event last year including a win over the PA team. Baylor seems to be down this year and the tournament is harder, so I wouldn't expect them to replicate that record. At least they are wrestling other prep teams. Makes for some good individual match ups. It is amazing how many good teams are having a hard time filling their lineup. I think high school should have switched to 12 weights. Duals would be faster and there would be less forfeits. 14 is way too many for high school.

He ended up being Alcoa's backup by season end and pulled them through some games during the season. Great Kid and Family from what the Alcoa fan base has told me. He wasn't the QB that threw 3TD's or ran for 1 against you all in the state championship game. That was Eli Graf who will be back next year.

Not the one I was referencing. LA is a very good football coach, but the one I was referencing made the decision to stay where he is instead of going back across the river. LA knows the landscape in Knox County. He'll be fine.

Antioch should hire the best coach for the job, regardless of if he has a son or not. Kid is only there so long and he doesn't have a lot of help. Much like Stratford. Need a coach willing to stick around and BUILD a program from basically scratch.

Booster clubs and private donors…..and that’s just limiting it to Knox county. Knox county is a caveman league and locked cosching stipends and have been for years. Football coaches work year around infinite amounts of hours but knox county thinks having the same pay scale since the 80s is good enough. other schools in surrounding counties have higher updated stipends AND get supplemented by private donors and booster clubs.

Carter doesn’t support their football coaches with money the way most other KCS schools do. Can’t blame him. Carter hasn’t had 4 straight winning seasons maybe ever.

Dennis naming himself coach would be better.

Not sure the inside guys move the needle. Both are good men. If Im Dennis, I would consider naming myself the coach. Lowe and Caven are not leaving FCS and will be the same situation when John hangs it up. The Tech names are all great coaches. Zero chance a Satterfield coaches at DCA. Outside guy makes the most sense, but other moves might need to be made. Riverdale staffer will also have interest.

Basketball will probably turn over here as well. Perry/Sonn combo makes sense here.

If the refs and A.D Would of done there job none of this would've happened. It would of been prevented in the 3rd period. But after a parent harrasing a kid on the court, a father had enuff. While the police officer and everybody in the gym seen a oakdale parent walk around the gym into the stands. Which should of been prevented, moments later the fight took place. Too many idiots in one gym
