Some folks selling empty promises as @OLD PIRATEwould say snake oil salesman. Pirates will still be competing for championships and the kids that leave will be paying $10 at the gate come November.
Villars wrestled a very good, even if it wasnt long, match. He just got caught by an ELITE wrestler. He didnt back down for a second! I think Villars finishes that takedown on all but 2 kids (both have the last name Raney) in the building, one being a 4X Fargo Champ and the other being a U17 WORLD CHAMP! He just happened to be wrestling the U17 World Champ. Way to come out and wrestle hard Dylan, regardless of who the opponent was!
Booger nose 2 things..
..that Rockytopjomo7 is a WV all in believer...and ILB1999 is a fine debater...or maybe even a fine bater
..but if one wants to thump ones breast about greatness gainst the public school system hamilton county tn has to offer.....one can be better than all and still be bad....not sayin WV is...
Booger just sayin
Villers had a good showing at 132 taking 5th. He’s wrestled Roark close. Roark lost to Reep for 3rd. Not sure if Reep has got that much better or Roark just isn’t as good as he once was. Maybe it’s from the prior injuries but just hasn’t progressed.
I no longer have my inside source, I just know there's a lot of interest in the job. I haven't heard any names but I'm trying to get some hahah so I can fill yall in..
Surprised but not surprised they found them a decent coach but I guess with in a lot of diffucult situations it never fails someone pops up and says "Here Hold My Beer". If that were me taking that job those assistants would have to hit the road and the parents that created this mess have two choices , keep your pie hole shut or stay at home on Friday Night. All I can say is good luck in putting this dumpster fire out and if you don't that will be two coaches in a row that gave up a lot to get nothing in return.
We always have a chance to play for a championship so if anyone leaves our program for someone down the road there not thinking straight for sure.. What's the old saying? The grass aint always greener on the other side????
That chin whip Raney hit was crazy good. Villers was in how he should have been and you're right, anyone else and Villers is getting points. Villers definitely attacked.
To be fair to both teams, Eastside is a more rounded team from top to bottom, while Baylor is definitely stacked thru the middle of the lineup. Baylor has some VERY HEAVY hitters throughout the middle that limits most teams ability to score at an individual tournament. Truth be told, Baylor scored what they scored with 10 and would've scored abt the same if they had brought 14.
Eastside has half their lineup in the semis today and will do good to walk away with more than 2 champs. Both of those 2 champs are right in Baylor's meatgrinder and would get taken out.
Heard a name or two that some think would be a good fit. Your guess about hiring a coordinator may not come to pass, but it's definitely a possibility. West Tn roots with Knoxville grad assistant on resume'.
And NONE of the schools you mentioned are in Bradley/Chatt area, so you proved my point. WV is known for their academics in this area…. just like Farragut is known for academics in the Knoxville area. Let’s move on.

Honestly, I don’t know. I hear kids talk about going to be with their friends more than I hear coaches “taking” kids. Being realistic, it’s difficult to sell kids on working hard and building something up from nothing when they could go to schools already known for winning. Also have to look at the lack of stability at schools that don’t perform well in athletics because coaches don’t stick around either. It’s easy to follow a winner. Not saying it’s right but I don’t think these coaches have to do much convincing if you ask me.
From what I’ve read it seems that he is a homegrown Meigs County guy who not only coached there for 12 years, but graduated from there as well.
Its interesting to me that he not only left MC but went to someone within there own region.
Are there internal issues at Meigs County?
Congrats to him. And I know your proud as well!
I liked the bold part from the article:
Holden Willis started the scoring for MTSU (1-3) on the Blue Raiders' second drive, catching a pass from Nicholas Vattiato in between zones of the CSU defense along the near sideline, making five Rams miss on his 36-yards after the catch for a 49-yard touchdown catch.
