Oak Ridge vs Clinton

Yeah, That was close to happening. Oak Ridge might not be the best team in the state, but they were 100 points better than Clinton tonight. Cocky? A lot can be said for preparation, tradition, talent and althletic ability. No brag, just facts.

Oak Ridgers are so cocky.  I'm not a Clinton fan but I do wish Shattuck and his bunch could pull off an upset.

I thought 74-0 was low class and if coach had a big enough ... then he'd have played some subs Ooltewah took a knee last 3 plays from opponents 3 Show some class before you come to the nest.

Back in '03, Central laid a butt kicking on Clinton. I think the final score was 71-0. I hate it for the kids to get beat like that, but..........????

 

When Stever Spurrier was at Florida - he said that he was not going to tell his 2nd & 3rd team guys NOT to score. The way he saw it, those guys work just as hard in practice and deserve the chance to show what they can do.

 

Also...some states have a "mercy rule". Meaning there is a continous clock without stoppage once the point differential exceeds a certain # of points. Any thoughts on that???

 

I KNOW Kentucky uses that rule, but I can't remember the point differential. I think it's around 35 points in the 4th quarter and the clock runs non-stop.

if a team is good enough to score 100 then let them . that means they have worked to get that good over years and shouldnt be denied what they can do on the field. plus clinton appartly had it comeing to them. Oak ridge players if you read this dont listen to some of these people just go out there and play hard for the whole game.

Stanton played everyone. I thought I saw cheerleaders and booster club moms on the field in the third and fourth quarter. Just kidding that would not be fair to the kids that played . On most teams the third and fourth team wouldnt see the field on Fridays but they did last night and not only did they play but finished off a dejected Clinton team by simply playing to the best of their ability.

 

Like the guy said earlier the score could have easily been 100 points.

 

We will see how Oak Ridge does aganist a good team in a couple weeks

He was playing subs throughout the second half, from early on.

 

He ran his normal offensive scheme throughout the third quarter with second and third teamers. Heck, I got it on two series myself. Fourth quarter, it was pretty much handing the ball off up the middle.

 

The scary thing is, Oak Ridge could have really run it up if they wanted to.

 

Just hope the Clinton players don't let this affect them too bad, although it will be tough mentally. They really have improved, although I am quite sure people will think I am nuts for saying so after a 74-0 beating like that.

 

There were a lot of factors for the score, from the idiotic vandalism, to the emotion of Stanton's first game. The OR players had a chip on thier shoulder because so many have been putting them down because of a lackluster pre-season.

 

Many teams would have taken a similar beating last night from Oak Ridge.

I dont really think under any conditions that you should pound anyone this bad,and dont give me that crap about letting the subs play, you just dont do this to a team. And surely not a team in your on County and the Coaches and players cant control what other students do painting steps so dont make that the culprit either. I just think you have to treat children in your own County with a little more respect...
