I would however look at "Running away" to be a normal scheme for any team vs. any impact player as one way to limit that players effectivness. I would not think for one min GQ would fear running at him on occasion. To respect him is one thing but to fear him is simply not nessessary.

I know he is bigger and faster now, but last year he was little to no threat to Maryville's offence. On another note I bet he can catch fron the TE position.

It's not that I think Maryville fears him it's that I think they would have more success running away from him. Maryville has to run his direction a couple of times; to at least keep the defense honest.

Agree. He is an impact player and it only makes sence to look for ways to limit his effectiveness. I do think Maryville will do it.

Our O line is an early season concern, but it has been for a few years now. Coach Ellis is among the best at getting the unit to be effective and he's got a game vs. S D to help him work out the kinks.

I believe I saw Alcoa's "secret weapon" down at the jamboree last Friday. He was still wearing those gray stretchy coaching shorts.

I used to love the "Bike" coaching shorts. Had 'em in several colors. I can remember those church-league softball days when we'd wear the coaching shorts with the neon spandex sliding shorts underneath...of course they were longer than the Bike's show the neon showed. I was such a stud.

Hey ... I even had a pair of Bike, stretchy coaching pants. Dang, you should have seen me in those. They were extremely tight!!!

I saw a lot of Tornado T-shirts at the MHS vs. SD game last night. You all are welcome to come over any time. You helped to boost attendance which helps increase the gate receipts. Now it is officially "ALCOA WEEK" for some. "MARYVILLE WEEK" for others. It's go time. I can't wait.

I heard the Rebs looked pretty good last night. Well now it's time for the best rivalry in the state!! Records don't matter for this one. I don't care what the records are at this point! It is and will always be Alcoa vs. Marvyville week! I can't wait! :thumb:

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
