Father Ryan vs. JP2

Pope has a new qb o the way and it will be Jonny Drennan. He is a very good athlete and might just compete forthe starting job this year as a freshman.

but what about the offensive line, who will be returning? Father Ryan basically has their line from last year minus the center. I think they'll have the advantage in the trenches. they are strong and ready to go. They will average about 260 and move very well.

I don't know a lot about the make-up of the team but I did happen to watch them in 7-on-7 with Greenbrier yesterday. I don't know if they had a good day or a bad day but they just looked average. Good size for a few of the skill guys but they looked young. While I'll give them the nod for the day, they played fairly even with a young Greenbrier team. Several guys lined up at QB but none really stood out. Severall picks by the Greenbrier LBs.

Both Father Ryan's offensive lines and defensive lines willl waltz right over JP2s stick figures. Our line does average 260, undoubtedly, and they are very quick. Im guessing by the time this freshman QB hands the ball off to Golden Tate (which I am assuming will be every play), there will be a FR lineman there to meet him. And if SOMEHOW Golden gets past one of them, he still has to deal with #17, who is looking for some headhuntin' vengence. And I am not sure about JP2s defense, but FR probably has the strength to make steady, positive plays on offense, and might end up scoring on nearly every drive. JP2 has lots of speed and talent, but they lack size and strength, since that class just left.

As for the 7v7, a lotta players cant make it because they work. Probably the same for Greenbrier. The team looked young because they are young, and too young to get a job.

For a team that got their tail handed to them last season by JP2 you sure are doing alot of talking. The team and you would be better off if you worked harder and did less smack talking. You use the name Father Ryan Wrestling very loosely but I am not so sure that your wrestling coach Pat Simpson would be happy with the way that you talk smack. All of the state champion wrestlers from Father Ryan that I have ever been around were very humble and complimented their opponents on their effort. You must be some type of "want to be" Father Ryan wrestler.

but what will happen to jp2 if golden can't ge anything going? all i hear is how much tate is going to run over frhs. last time i checked it takes 11 players on the field to win a football game, not just one. golden is a good player but he can't do it by himslef.

If you beat Golden, you beat the team. A simple strategy. 'Nuff said.

Father Ryan has been bad for years now. I blamed it on the coaching. But the new coach, Bruce Lussier, is getting the team back into playoff mode. It may take a few more years to build, but he'll get them there

Last year, JPII embarassed Father Ryan. I know the rivalry is growing between these two schools, so I could say FR will be out for revenge. Im going to go out on a limb and say FR takes it 20-19.

I havent been to a FR game since 2003, but this is the one I will probably make it to this year.
