Most annoying list: Drunks, Smokers, Fans cursing or yelling negative things & put downs or hollering which plays to run (they are smarter than all the coaches anyways), canned air horns or electric train whistles, fairweather fans, "dignified" & "haughty-taughty" folk who show up to be seen & noticed by others and would never be caught dead raising their voice or clapping or cheering team,  people who want to have a social meeting & gossip session at stadium instead of supporting team, cussing & awful lyrics in the songs played, and especially "sponsored" plays (ex.: that's a First Bank first down, a Snappy Foods SACK, a Cash Express interception, a Bob's Garage fumble recovery, a Nancy's Spa touchdown, a Boren's Brick block.. etc, et al, ad nauseum.. YUK. PUKE. ARGGG!)..

Most awesome list: fans who love their teams and are at game to cheer them on & encourage them & support team, noisemakers & chanting & foot stomping & cowbells... the louder the better!!!, upbeat & uplifting fans who try to help team instead of insult & cutdown, bands who put on halftime shows, and all the many, unseen supporters & volunteers behind the scenes who work tirelessly to make their school's sports & extracurricular activities a great experience by all.

This thread is so long, I am sure what I am about to mention has already been mentioned.  But my biggest pet peeve is a parent criticizing a player on missing a block, pass, catch, etc. These are kids, they're learning the game every day. They aren't being paid to play football.  AND, you don't know if their parent is sitting nearby.

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.

    • Athletics is just a piece. It can help them academically, socially and add confidence. I was still 17 when I finished my first quarter at UT. I was the last to get my driver's license. It's not always just for athletics.
    • USJ not even close to being able to hold a meet like that
