im going to have to go and watch AP and cumberland now with the new class of players

Yeah Stell and Griff are going to Cumberland next year. By the way, Tony will break the power clean record because he threw 290 EASY! The only thing that is going to stop him is that we can only put 3 45lbs weights on each side. We need to get a bigger bar.

Riverdaleman, I agree. The young men at R'dale do NOT get the credit they work so hard for. :thumb:

Congratulations Scott Thomas!!!!!!!!!!

Between last years draft and this years AP is gonna have an awesome team this year. They already have a good RB in Gulmire from Oak Ridge there and now they are gonna have a good QB to go with him.

Thomas playing defensive back or quarterback? The coachT signees page said defensive back but i dont know.

How about using some iron instead of all those bumper plates. If of course, ya really wanna pile it on. 2 bumpers and all the steel ya can handle is sure to make any muscle head happy.

We don't want to crack the floor or any weight. I have never tried putting metal weight on power clean, but if it can happen without damaging anything we will try it.

It is great to see so many local boys getting to play at the next level. I am sure that having Kit at AP helped Scott's decision to accept there. Good luck to him.

I am so proud of Stell and Griffith. Coach Alexander just got a STEAL with those two. They were the heart and soul of our defense and both deserve to play at the next level. Good grades too..........

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
