I think the Meachum kid is actually a transfer from CSAS. There is some kid that is transferring in from South Carolina as a senior. I thought he was the Meachum kid everyone was talking about. The kid from SC is a beast.

Ok Pasture give us a break, like some kid is going to transfer from South Carolina to play football at Temple and he is a beast as you put it. What kid is going to leave his senior year and transfer if he was a beast. Next you will be telling us that he is being recruited by Spurrier, I also heard they are trying to clone a Skogen.

I just wondered if he was a "star" quarterback transfer like they have gotten each of the past two years!

Sometimes kids actually move because their parents got a new job, got divorced, etc. I doubt someone came all the way from SC to Temple just for sports. Sometimes a school just gets lucky. If he is really "a beast" I wished he had moved to SP /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

So Pasture, tell us more about "The Beast"

I doubt this is true, but if it is it will be difficult to find anyone this late in the summer to take over. Would someone close to the Temple program please verify this.

I will not comment further on this, but will validate the fact that the new Temple coach has been removed from his position.

Maybe the dads can coach. Like pewee ball. At this point with no coach it couldnt hurt any worse. Plus the dads are always trying to tell the coach who to play. Surley they can recruit a coach? Its only money.

Hey Zone theres you a slot. You can be a part of the recruiting. Jump the fence. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Give the program 4 years at most... they had thier fun with football but don't have the patience for a sport that they won't compete for even a region championship in.

Yeah I agree. They will drop it and stick to Basketball ect. They dont have a home field yet. Theres a lot of work involved in building a Football program. I think the question is, is it worth all the problems they are having? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

There was never a long-term committment to the program. This is not good for the school. Football WAS good for the school but could be it's ruin.

Hard to find a coach at this point. (assuming this is true)

As i understand, there football team was a result of the boys basketball team having alot of athletes who played football out of boredom. If that is correct then of course there is going to be no committment for the program. The biggest problem they will run into is expectations. When they were barely winning 50% of games then everyone was ok with it because it was expected. Now that they have had one good season, i don't think the administration, coaches, and more importantly the kids will have patience for it. Alot of people doubt that kids have an effect but think of it this way, not only do kids decide if they even want to be on the team or not, they also decide who goes. If the football team is considered a joke by the students then i would say at least half if not more of the fan base is completely gone.

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
