The same could be said for OAkland. From a 3-7 season last year to the finals, they have come pretty far also.

Actually, in the last 3 years prior to this one, Oakland has been 10 - 20. I'd say going 13 - 1 so far this year with a trip to the Finals is AMAZING!

Go Pats! You have made all of us die-hard fans proud not just with your record but with your attitude. Remember, we are all praying for you and we are all tremendously proud of the young men you have shown yourselves to be!

Well its hard to swallow that Oakland made the finals, but they have played hard and fought to get the program turned around. The best thing about this matchup for the Rebel fans is that its at Middle Tennessee and not Freedom Field. At least at the BlueCross game the PA Annoouncer will call out the names of all the players and not just Oaklands. Can any Pat fans explain this? Your guy never announced a single kids name from an opposing team at any of the games I attended. Glad to see Middle Tennessee remains the dominant force in 5A.

haha yea im sure the drive home was worse after the way we showed up for that game. hoping franklin puts up a better game than we did in '04. it was a great experience though.

Ehh, I was still proud.

And please, Riverdale was amazing... if you go back and look at the play-by-play, that game turned on a couple key plays. I'm not saying the game was closer than the score or anything like tehat... but I think you're selling yourselves short.

Anyways... someone needs to text me updates Saturday night... you, or Rebel Yell... someone. Hit me up on facebook if you don't have my number still.

Does anyone have an opinion as to whether or not playing on turf in Floyd will affect the teams? As far as I know, this will be Franklin's only time on anything but grass this year.

Just wondering...............

The Field Turf at MT is a great surface to play on. IMO it shouldn't have that much effect on the outcome. The Pats do have some advantage with having turf in the indoor facility. The Bulldogs didn't seem to be bothered by the last two years.

Thats why they call it home-field advantage. Its the PA announcers job to be completely biased to the home team. He does a pretty good job in his own way

That's classic. I think it was just the start of this season when 2P stated that he was glad SHS vs. OHS was at your place because of the announcer at SHS. I've never really thought about the PA guy winning any games, but I guess you needed more than just new uniforms to turn around THE PROGRAM! By the way we weren't that impressed by the Hotdogs. Lets just keep the Gold and Silver balls in Middle Tn no matter who wins them.

I have a feeling the "World Famous Oakland Dogs" might taste even better in the parking lot of Floyd Stadium on Saturday.

Don't mean to Say that season wasn't spectacular. Just think we couldve played better in that game. Would have taken a lot for anyone to top that years riverdale team. Here's hoping franklin brings home a gold ball to sit next to the silver we recieved in 04!!

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
