EXACTLY WHICH HEAD COACHES ARE YOU REFERRING TO???

Not just head coaches, but assistants as well. Kenny Ratledge, DC at Sevier Co. was there sometime. As was Tony Lingenfelter. I know some of the assistant coaches off Hutchins' staff who have left SD had success (Upton at Maryville, the guy at Greenville and the guy at Catholic. Truth be told, Hutchins took McMinn Co. to the second round of the playoffs before coming to SD. Obviously knew something then. I think Swafford took the team he coach before SD to the playoffs.

Coaches are only as good as their talent. In Texas my junior year, the AAAAA champions went 14-1. My senior year they went 2-8 and got blown out in 6 of those games. Same coaches 365 days apart. Also a little note that supports my original post. If I remember correctly, the coach at South-Doyle and the coach at Oak Ridge resigned around the same time. The thread about Oak Ridge's coaching search is 58 pages, the South-Doyle page is 5. Not that it is scientific, but the community interest is about 0.

You are comparing apples to oranges.

But let me understand, you are saying there were no players on last years team?

I will be be sure to let Chase Phillips and Hakeem Worthern know this.

Question for you, Observer: I saw where Worthern signed with Carson-Newman. Where did Phillips end up?

Well it look to me we had some talent on last years team.

With all due respect, I saw this team play seven games last year and I saw 3 maybe 4 players that had above average talent. The QB has some talent, the big DT (90) could play for anyone. The RB (34 I think) got hurt but was pretty good. The big offensive lineman was decent, but he did not dominate the way he looked like he could have. That was about it. The little DE/WR kid was fast, but he got beat around some.

According to the player I talked to yesterday, the coach is supposed to be named Monday, March 2nd.. The player stated South Doyle has offer the job to him but they're waiting on Knox County to approve it. He did not know who the coach was he just said he knew they had a coach and the announcement was coming Monday..

    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say the have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • Crazy how the thread just gets deleted when facts come out.
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
    • 7 Pages of complaining because the lacrosse team put removable lines on the field so that they could practice/play lacrosse  Y'all boys are bored huh lol
