I find it funny all the complaining and jawing from Etown concerning Alcoa. Rrecruiting, classless, running score up, etc...CAK and Loudon play them every year and usually twice. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the program, fans, tradition. They have always been very classy against our teams, and we have been hammered plenty of times by them. They do not recruit, they are a good football team that has a tradition that keeps rolling just like Maryville. People who say the negative things concerning Alcoa do not know their parents, coaches, and players very well. We have been involved in playing Alcoa the last 4 years 8 times. I hate its over. They bring great competion and respect to each game. Remember, we lost each those games by no less than 2 TD. Alcoa showed extreme class in honoring a CAK player who's father was killed in an accident the Sunday before, and were very supportive of the family and the football program. So layoff Alcoa until you know them better !

First off HVWarriors don't put all betsy fans in the same category because i for one am not what you say an Elizabethton fan is and lets not talk about classless because i have friends from HV that say the same thing about your fans. I ate with some ALCOA people and they were good people and i told them they had alot to be proud of . They have a great team great coaches and good fans and i wish them the best . ALCOA beat us and showed us what ALCOA football is all about . ALCOA fans i want you to know that this Elizabethton fan has nothing but good things to say about your team . ALCOA is in a class all by there self and i am proud of our team and all of the hard work they have done to get this program back to were it use to be . What we have to remember is this just a game and when this life is over it don't matter how many football games you've one or how many championships you've one but how you've lived your life that counts . The man upstairs don't care about football but he does care about souls . That being said betsy keep your heads up and keep fighting you have alot to be proud of and ALCOA go get another gold ball you deserve it your team is men among boys .

It sounds to me like your putting all HV fans in the same category, but whatever. I think it's interesting that if HV runs their mouth and gets beat, they deserve it, but if Elizabethton does the same thing, it's classless. Oh well, I'm not going to even bother trying to argue anymore. This is the way things have been around here forever. Arguing about it is like talking to a brick wall. And I'll say again: It's not just HV that feels this way about Etown.

You're freakin' hilarious, dude! You have no idea who you're talking to. Also, you have no idea who I was talking about. The Sudderth sisters are awesome, it's the other people who have just started coming to the games in the past few years that are obnoxious. And, no, the coaches and players didn't enjoy the horns, they thought it was obnoxious as well (I've talked with several of them about it). In fact, some of them said that at least it was annoying the other side too. It's one thing to blow those things during the "wind", but an all together different thing to continuously blow them through out the whole 4th quarter. I'm a "yeller", but I quit yelling and making noise because I knew nothing would be heard over those horns. I usually yell so much I'm hoarse the next day. So, don't talk to me about being a "bump on a log"; I'm as far as you can get from that. Getting on this forum and voicing my opinion about obnoxious fans (which every team has) is my right, and I'll do it if I please.

I will come to Ms. Sudderth's defense and say that she did put it down when the play actually began; she had it up when the boys were lining up for the play.

"If the people don't yell on that 50 yard line the kids would have noone yelling for them ! " You're selling the students short. They yell continuously for the boys on the field. Maybe you couldn't hear them because of the horns.

And, no, I haven't "just started coming to the games". I'm an alum and have been going to games for 40+ years. What about yourself?

Sorry if I offended you with your horn-blowing. Like I said, just please don't blow it during the whole freakin' game, PLEASE.

I also would like to respond to this post. I agree that the Sudderth sisters bring tons of support and enthusiasm to the Alcoa games. When somebody yelled "we can't see", the sign was immediately put down. The sign is great and supports the teams theme this year. My only objection personally was when it was held up during a play so the fans behind couln't see the game. Keep the sign, it is great, hold it, wave it and swish it around between plays. The jugs, bells, and even the horn are great and show tremendous team support. When I made my post (with a tremendous headache) it was because of the continuous horn blowing. My apologies to all of you because I know that this group has Alcoa football running through their blood and I would not want to see that change. As for the paper, it is not my preference so I make sure to sit somewhere else. Again, it was not my intention to offend anyone. Hope you see you all in Cookeville.

Footballmom. Your argument of lack of depth does not hold water. If I am not mistaken Loudon's enrollment is nearly twice that of Alcoa. If that fact is correct, why do you have so few players? Nearly 100 of our 250 boys play football. As you have already been told, we too have five players that go both ways as well. So now what is your excuse?

Bottomline is Loudon loses 10 out of 10 games against the Tornadoes. Not until Loudon reaches Alcoa's level with the total combination of size, speed, physicality, conditioning, discipline and coaching will they have a chance. Right now IMO you are short on team speed, discipline, and conditioning.

So stop embarrassing a good group of proud Redskins. They had a great season. But they know why they lost to Alcoa. Ask them. They will have the same answer E-Town does right now.

CAK plays only about 4 players both ways. We certainly have better players standing on sidelines when both defense and offense are playing. Think of #23 in wildcat or running back / receiver, #21 at safety or corner, #15 at corner. It is just a different philosphy. CAK has less players than anyone they play and still is able to compete with everyone but Alcoa on a regular basis

CAK has 4 players that play both ways? I can think of only one that played both ways in all 12 games. I know #23 played some RB and DB early in the season and #7 has some dual roles in a couple of games, but #67 was our only two way player.

Thanks Footballmom! :roflol: It was not our intention to disturb our own fans. All week long all I heard was how loud the 6000 seat stadium was going to rock and how there were never any fans from the visiting team in the stadium. Well, I must admit, it got under my skin. I wanted them to know that we back our Tornadoes 100% and no one does it like us!!! I guess it worked. I've heard that there will probably be more horns at State. Sorry, but this time its not us. Hopefully, they will be a little more "managed". I think most of us on the 50 are respectful of others, and would not want to intentionally ruin anyone's time. With that said, GO TORNADOES!!!!!

Here we go again.

#1...Alcoa does not pay for players, parents can pay tuition to put them in a great academic school system.

#2...That means Alcoa will not run out of money, that is just ignorant to insinuate we pay for them.

#3...We must have the best recruiters ever since most kids come to alcoa at a young age and play together for years.

Alcoa was open zoned when we were losing games as well. A great feeder program and great training, dedication and tradition with tallent create what you see. Not some group of boosters scouting tallent. I don't have numbers but I can assure you the overwhelming majority of alcoa players and especially playmakers are from alcoa or have been there long before middle school.

Now I know you will refuse to believe a word of this, but I don't think for a second any logic can overrule jealousy that you have towards the program.

Parents working together? I don't think we keep stats on that, we just count rings.

Classless, I wasn't there what happened. Did alcoa celebrate a victory like other schools would have, what should alcoa have done? A moment of silence for the end of betsy's season?

Did you even read my post I never said Alcoa paid tuition you brought that up and I ask how many where originally from Alcoa and you kinda answered that for me! And as far as classless you would not understand its above you I can tell!

Anyway great built team and keep up the good work! And as far as jealous of your program not really just wish we had your resources! I said earlier industry does wonders! Remember your "Aluminum City"

Enough crying OW. You can take away our tution players and we still beat E-Town with extreme ease. Quite frankly, E-Town is fourth or fifth best team we have seen this year. Keep crying about recruiting, buying players, refs, etc. Lower tier programs always use these excuses. If the school, coaches and fans continue to wallow in this self-pity E-Town will never make it to the ship. When you finally quit blaming others and take personal responsibility for why the program is not ready to compete on the championship level then, and only then, will E-Town rise to the level of competition that exits on the road to Cookville.
