Powell vs Oak ridge

I'm gonna have to go with my cross county rivals here. OR by 7. Next week AC at Powell reckons to be huge for District 3 5A. But the Mildcats are gonna tame their feline cousins in this one.

ORKat, thanks for the prediction and the food info in the 3A thread. I think OR may surprise Powell tonight. There is no doubt after watching them dismantle Halls that they are very good, but I think Halls is way down and Fulton is considerably over-rated. Having said that, IMO it's an upset if OR comes out on top.

These are sad days for OR. I am not sure that Blade is the coach for OR. Long night against Powell.

Ok, no upset tonight, except for the OR faithful. Grats to Powell for the win. Even with our mistakes (and there were many), Powell is the better team. Powell played a solid game and made the most of the opportunities we gave them. A big key to the game was the total domination up front by the Powell line on both sides of the ball. When a team is able to do that, great things happen.

 

I don't know what is in store for the Wildcats the rest of the year. If we don't improve at the basics of the game (blocking and tackling), we are looking at 5-5 at best. The lack of team speed is not helping either.

 

Again, nothing to do but try to regroup and take on Halls next week.

Great win for the Panthers! Clinton went down against Hardin Valley, so the winner of next week's AC-Powell game could really put themselves out in front.
