Why would SP want to play Alcoa? It makes no financial sense. We would travel up there and our bus cost $2,000 since we go everywhere in style. Plus pregame meal which is another $500 and $500 on the way back for food. We would have to spend $3,000 at the minimum to go play them. It does not make sense.

What is the population of Waynesboro and how many will you bring to the game?

Not sure of the population right now but we travel pretty well for small town. Hard times ,as im sure most towns are facing, will have an effect on how many but pretty sure we will have 400 or so, dont know if thats big by everyones standards but good for us on 3+ hour drive

You are a Nimrod and you are ignorant as well. Let me get your limited education of TN football up to the kindergarten level. W played a 10 game schedule against 2 1a teams, 3 2a teams, 3 3a teams a 4a team and a 6a team. We beat Boyd Buch 26 -10 at their place and the lost in OT to FCS by 1 pt and FCS is playing for the 2a title. We just had a solid win against Gordonsville who beat FCS in the regular season and FCS actually finished in the region behind Gordonsville. The last game of the season, SP played GCA and lost in 3 OT by a field goal. They could easily be playing for a 2a title if they weren't banned the past 2 years the finished 10 -0 including a win over CAK who is playing for the 3a title. Then there is Signal Mountain who was the 2a champs last year and likely would have made a run at the 4a title if they hadn't gotten in trouble with the TSSAA. SP beat Signal 2 years ago at their place, lost at SP last year by 4 points at our place and they went on to win the 2a title. They moved up to 4a this year and hammered us at their place. IF and that is a big IF, we were to play Alcoa this may have been the year to do it but, really given all wins count in the playoff seeding, SP would be foolish to play a 7 time in a row 3a champion. We got a #3 seed in Quad 1 this year for our trouble and traveled games 2 -4 because of it. Lastly, we would have had to drop one of our rival games including 1 which is usually competitive.

Actually, Franklin Co. called in August wanting to play because they had back to back open dates...they offered us a one game deal at our place...we would have been stupid to turn that down. As it stood, our last 5 games included: signal mtn (a semifinalist in 4A if they had notbeen caught cheating), franklin co. (6A, I know I will get some grief over this but they really were not that bad, look at their scores, they were tied with greeneville at the half), boyd buc (2A champion if not for a terrible call), Polk Co. (3A district champ and 2nd round playoff team), and GCA (2A, undefeated)...it would have been insane to add alcoa in that stretch of games...maybe first game of the year but not the 7th.
