he inherited that team from the previous coach...but I think it was 2002 not 2003 and the statom you are referring to was probably his brother who graduated a few years earlier I think...been a lot of years , not totally sure

You must be talking about Linville, he's already at Deshler as head coach, Statom is going as his assistant. Coach Statoms kids are younger. When Linville and Ward played was in the late eighties and early nineties.
